We arrived about 10:30pm - 11:00pm for an overnight stay to visit Virginia Tech in the morning for my daughter’s tour of the university. We called ahead to let the hotel know that we would be arriving after the check-in time. Our drive to the hotel was about five hours. The first room that we received looked ok. We settled in to get ready for bed. My wife got in bed and just so happened to look up at the ceiling and the popcorn ceiling paint was peeling, right over her head. We immediately packed up all our stuff and went back downstairs to the front desk. The gentleman gave us another room, and it seemed to be fine, until about 4;00am in the morning. The AC unit was very loud, so my wife turned the AC off, the noise was gone, but we could not sleep comfortably due to the temperature. I went downstairs and informed the front desk gentleman that helped us the previous 2 times. I told him about the noise and how uncomfortable we were. The gentleman didn't ask if I wanted to be moved to another room, although if he were to ask me, I don't think we would've moved at 4;00am in the morning. So, I just went back to my room. I haven't heard anything from the hotel about the inconveniences that we experienced, even though I made them aware of all of them.

Great one night stay visiting VT. room and breakfast was good- loved coffee machine and hot water! Wish they had more tea selection. Otherwise I'd give a 5!

The room was spacious, the bed was cozy. Loved the layout. Pool wasn’t the cleanest. Room could’ve been a little better cleaned.

The location was perfect and convenient. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff I interacted with were friendly The rate increase when I had to change my check-in date by one day due to unforseen circumstances and yet there were still plenty of rooms available. The breakfast was late and not so great. The lobby breakfast area trash can was overflowing from the night before.

The staff was always friendly and they always had a smile. They made sure they greeted you when you entered. Nothing. It was all great.

Beautiful Queen 2 bed room Staff was not friendly, breakfast’s tray had wrong sign, I thought it’s oatmeal but was pork instead, as my religion I can’t eat pork, when I asked the service lady she said by mistaken she put egg sign. I’m not sure she meant this or not but I leave this to my Creator. Thanks

The front lady is very helpful, it was my second day but no fresh towels i requested , as soon as i went to the front desk, she immediately gave me my requests.

When you first walk into the hotel, the lobby is very nice and the overall aesthetics give a great first impression. The breakfast was definitely one of the highlights—there was a nice selection and the food was really good. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. There was quite a bit of hair in different areas, which made me feel like the room could have been cleaned much more thoroughly before we checked in. Some things in the room also felt a little dated. I also think adding streaming options or smart TVs would be a great upgrade for guests. Our first night was also extremely scary because the fire alarm went off after a guest caused smoke to fill the second floor. I completely understand that this was outside of the hotel’s control, so I do not hold the hotel responsible for the incident itself. However, I had my disabled mother and my son on the fifth floor, and trying to safely evacuate them was extremely difficult and frightening. It was an experience I will never forget. Overall, there were definitely some positives—the lobby was beautiful and the breakfast was great—but the room cleanliness and some needed updates are the main reasons I would rate my stay a 6 out of 10.
