I would not recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel. We had a card in the room for 1/2 price oysters and would not honor it

Beautiful and convenient

The Eliot Hotel has a romantically elegant boutique vibe laced with 100 years of historical significance in our great city of Boston. What better “staycation”hotel to stay at while celebrating our nations 250th anniversary… Amazing on site restaurant(UNI), and even more amazing hotel staff members… we can’t wait to go back💙

Great location. Right off of Newbury. But very odd bathrooms - toilet is literally right next to the door that you could trip over it. Barely any room to maneuver in the bathroom. Very outdated. Amenities not very luxurious for a 4-star hotel. Could use a major update. Physical keys were a nice touch. Had a decent stay, but for the price might look at other more updated properties

The biggest issue was cleanliness. It seemed like the room had only been spot cleaned. We found a contact lens on the bathroom floor and an empty plastic bag behind the bedroom door, which made us question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before our arrival. The shower was also incredibly small, making it difficult to use comfortably. Finally, the service at the front entrance was disappointing. While I have no problem opening a door myself, a four-star hotel that offers bell service should provide that level of hospitality consistently. Most of the time, the bellmen were on their phones and didn’t acknowledge guests or offer to open the door. On only one or two occasions did we receive the attentive service we expected. The hotel itself has a lot of charm and is in a great location, but the lack of attention to cleanliness and customer service made it difficult to justify the four-star experience we were expecting.

Classic, well-maintained older property. Great location, around the corner from Newberry St and a brief walk to Fenway Park. I appreciated getting an upgrade - the room was comfy. My only complaint was the bathroom was quite small, though well-appointed - not an issue for me as I was traveling solo.

When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite much to our delight. The staff were very friendly and response to anything was immediate. The hotel felt very private. The Uni restaurant was superb and food was amazing. The location was excellent, a short walk to restaurants and shopping. Nothing.
-
Staff was unable to unlock door to our suite upon arrival and we had to wait in the hallway for 30 minutes before maintenance arrived. Then we were locked out again and were moved to another suite where the chain on door was broke. The property is old (chipped paint-worn furniture) and has small windows and dim lighting. It does not have a small boutique charm. Entire staff is foreign.

The service
-
Beautiful hotel in excellent location. The staff especially the staff at the door were rally friendly. The onsite restaurant Uni was exceptional. An onsite gym or use of local facility which was not available any longer.
-
We did not eat at the hotel as the breakfast was way overpriced.
-
There isn’t an employee of this hotel that does not greet you when you are walking past them. That’s a total class act in my opinion. I also found the location to be ideal, just off of Newbury Street where all the action happens. We got upgraded to a suite, and that was a pleasant surprise… thanks to everyone for making us feel at home.

Excellently situated. Attentive staff. Everything, as written above.

The shining star of The Eliot is the staff; they were attentive, kind and authentically present and helpful. In letting them know we were celebrating a milestone anniversary, they upgraded our standard room to suite; the suite was beautifully and elegantly designed, bringing with it a classic old world charm. The location itself has a wonderful restaurant if you’re looking to stay close and otherwise, is a few minute walk from the well renowned Newbury Street with countless shops and eateries. We also enjoyed a show at the Citizens Opera House which was a close drive away. Overall, the Eliot is a great stay in a prime location to enjoy all that Boston has to offer, is well maintained, and housed with a staff who truly want to provide you with a special experience.

Amazing location and first class boutique property
-
Very plush and classical design. Lovely staff. The suite was lovely but the bathroom is so tiny, with the toilet almost blocking the entrance. Breakfast is very underwhelming and staff there a disorganised.
