Newbury Guest House

The Staff was extremely helpful, and the property was clean and convenient to the Hynes Convention Center. Provided parking was a life saver with plenty of shops and restaurants in the area.

Amazing location, friendly, comfortable

What I loved most about Newbury Guest House was its perfect location in the heart of Back Bay. The hotel is charming, clean, and comfortable, with friendly staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Everything is within walking distance, including great restaurants, cafés, shopping, and many of Boston’s main attractions. It offers a genuine Boston experience! What I did not like was that the hotel does not offer breakfast, which was somewhat inconvenient. The rooms were on the smaller side, especially if you have large suitcases, and the stairs can be challenging for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues.

My husband and I only stayed one night. The bed was so comfortable I got the best night sleep!! Its in the best location also. They even went out of there way to get us a parking spot also!!

The room was very comfortable and the air-conditioning was excellent. They were painting the lobby, so things were a bit chaotic.

Staff and location

The photos of the rooms in this "guest house" were very deceiving. I thought we would have a room with bay windows, a fireplace, charming furnishings, as pictured. But, what we got was a generic hotel box with a tiny window and a very tiny bathroom. The name is also deceiving as it wasn't guest house-like at all. It looked like any other bland hotel room in any chain hotel. With no bar, workout room, pool or breakfast, the price of this room was outrageous. At checkout when I spoke to the front desk, they assured me a manager would get back to me because of my disappointment in the accommodations. Was never contacted.

Spacious and clean rooms with daily service. Very good restaurant located downstairs. Nice staff. Hallways, stairways and common carpet were “tired” and in need of investment. Average shower head.

Fantastic stay! Wonderful location, beautiful and comfortable room. The staff were all so nice. In walking distance of “t” and lots of restaurants right on the same street as hotel. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Small but very clean and comfortable room. Hotel is undergoing construction so it wasn't in pristine condition. Parking in back was tight but available for $35/day. The location was fabulous. Walking distance to multiple stores, restaurants, theaters. Highly recommend.

Staff are wonderful, kind and courteous. The parking is extra, but in an alley behind the hotel with direct access, it was a little tricky at first, but we had no issues with it even in an SUV. Location is in the heart of Newbury street, and while there was street noise - the location and charm of the area outweighed this. If you are a very light sleeper, bring ear plugs. We very much appreciated the refreshment station and the quaint feel of the house. We will return when we're back in Boston.

Staff has been terrific! Parking is so easy. Right in the middle of everything on Newbury.

Quiet and quaint. Excellent French restaurant on lowest ground level.,.where I also found self-parking behind the hotel.
