Great boutique hotel in heart of Williamsburg
-
Hotel felt like a hostel, although pricing was high. Front counter and entrance was uninviting. Bed was up against window, allowing access from only 1 side. Resto on roof was pleasant and best part of our stay.

The room was smaller than anticipated. The layout felt like a dorm room, with the bed tucked into a cubby against the wall, requiring one person to climb over the other to get in and out. While the design is modern, it wasn’t functional or comfortable. The lobby was underwhelming and didn’t create a sense of arrival. The staff were generally indifferent. We mentioned at check-in that we were celebrating a milestone birthday, but there was no acknowledgment during our visit. It reinforced the feeling that the hotel was not focused creating memorable experiences. One of our biggest disappointments was the hotel’s restaurant. We asked for assistance with obtaining a reservation. The front desk told us to go to the restaurant to ask vs facilitating for us. We were told nothing was available. Yet when we visited, there were numerous empty tables with the explanation that they were understaffed. Despite the restaurant not being full and our desire to celebrate a birthday, no effort was made to accommodate us or find a solution. Gorgeous views from the rooftop! The hotel is dog-friendly, which is great if you’re traveling with a pet, but something to be aware of. None of these issues individually would have significantly impacted our stay, but together they reflected a lack of attentiveness and service. For a hotel at this price point, I expected a more thoughtful, guest-focused experience especially for a big birthday.

I love the Penny. I adore this neighborhood and the Penny is a friendly, no fuss, place to stay, clean, great bedding, quiet, in a sense it does well what is essential to me.

The most comfortable bed!

Cool place, good rooftop when not booked out for parties. Nice courtyard and comfortable room with good small kitchen area

Great stay. A repeat customer!
-
Beautiful hotel with cute outdoor spaces and a rooftop restaurant with spectacular views. Will definitely stay again.

Had a great weekend stay here. Lots to walk to in the vicinity and easy walk to subway. Recommend the restaurant as well for views and food (though it was closed mostly during my stay for private events - so something to be mindful of).
-
The outside patio is nice as well as the gated area for dogs to stretch. I will complement the staff as they were courteous and helpful consistently. If you want good pizza, around the corner is Best Pizza and it is exceptional.

This is a great boutique hotel. It’s well taken care of and a fun place to stay. The rooftop bar/restaurant has amazing views. It’s in a great, central location in Brooklyn.
-
Stylish, modern hotel, friendly staff, clean room & good location. We really enjoyed the rooftop & garden outdoor options too. We’ll be back!
-
Cutely styled and very convenient hotel. The room was quiet and well-decorated, and felt more like a home than a hotel. Huge window with a great view of the courtyard. There were tons of terrific details, and the roof lounge space and patio are spectacular. Just some damaged (stained) carpets in the hallway were a distraction. Fun and charming.

Updated and clean property. Room had microwave and refrigerator. It had drip coffee set up, which was good. I would have preferred Keurig in some other similar level hotesl We liked the rooftop lounge area. The room was real small. The rooms were cleaned very late in the day. if we returned mid-day after lunch, we had to retire in a messy room. There was no fitness room.
-
Great location in the heart of Williamsburg. The room felt spacious, had great pourover coffee, and yoga mats. The view from the roof was spectacular. And, lastly, the area was quiet with a surprisingly comfortable bed and pillows. My mini fridge was leaking and ended up getting my clothes quite wet. There was no in-room iron, so it took quite awhile for them to dry.

Excellent location in Brooklyn !
-
Clean room, love the coffee set up! Super easy walkable area as well.
-
The rooms were a bit dark and dreary and hallway carpet was stained, but the staff was fantastic and I enjoyed the rooftop terrace.

Love staying at the Penny every time we visit family!
