Safari Inn Burbank/Universal, a Coast Hotel

Not clean

Okay place to stay but their business practice is a little shady. They charge 25.00 for parking and this charge is not mentioned until you check in, therefore leaving you with a choice to pay this hidden charge or find parking on the neighborhood streets. They also place a 200.00 hold on your credit card that will take days to remove. This charge is a little excessive and again not told to you until you check in. Overall it's a nice place, very clean for an overnight stay. I'd consider it again now that I know what to expect.

Classic, historic and nostalgic. Well maintained and refreshed rooms. Nice warm pool to relax. Useful shuttle but book as soon as you make a reservation. Convenient options for food and essentials closeby. Kind staff. Beautiful church across the street. Cheap parking but smallish spots. Safe and friendly and well located to Unvieral and Warner Bros. FUN!

I contacted the front desk because the air conditioner was not working. The gentleman that answered told me that he was aware that maintenance had checked it out early that morning and it should be working. He said he would call me back. He was gonna follow up with the maintenance guy, but I never heard back and we had to sleep in a very hot room. Very inconvenient and very uncomfortable with summer weather.

We have stayed here before and have always been very happy with the experience. This time, however, we were not as pleased. The chair in the room was dirty and stained. We brought it to their attention and nothing was done about it. We did not want to sit in it. The coffee machine in the lobby was out of beans. The rating is 9.4 and we do not feel that is accurate anymore, especially for the price. Parking used to be free and now they charge $25. a night. This is not a fenced in or secure area. I understand having a charge, but $25. is too much. On the positive side, we really like the location! And the swimming pool is well maintained and we really enjoyed it.

Room itself was dated but clean, and was close enough to universal studios to make it worth it for a one night stay.

The nice thing about this hotel is the location. I literally walked 4 minutes to a really good sushi restaurant.

We needed a quick overnight in Burbank, and this fit the bill nicely. Fun motor inn layout, parking lot is quite tight - FYI for those with large vehicles. The room was very spacious, clean and modern looking.
