Carmel Country Inn

If you are planning a trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea, look no further than the Carmel Country Inn. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the village, it manages to feel like a secluded coastal escape while still being a quick, effortless walk to downtown shops, incredible restaurants, and the beach. The accommodations are stunning and designed for pure relaxation. Our suite was incredibly spacious, featuring a cozy fireplace and a luxury bath that made it feel like a home away from home. Coming back to a warm fire after an evening walk along the coast was absolute heaven. What completely sets this inn apart, though, is that it is exceptionally pet friendly. A lot of hotels just tolerate dogs, but the Carmel Country Inn truly rolls out the red carpet for them. From a personalized photo welcome and endless treats to a specialized pet washing station for rinsing off beach sand, they make traveling with your dog entirely seamless and stress free. To top it all off, the morning breakfast is fantastic featuring fresh local pastries and delicious quiches and the staff goes completely above and beyond to make you feel like family. We are already counting down the days until our next road trip back, and we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

From the first moment we arrived the hospitality was remarkable. We were walked to our room and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and dogs were welcomed with their names written on a chalkboard. It was calm, quaint, and we really felt taken care of. I definitely recommend it!

Guaranteed off street parking. The staff had exceptional customer service. Breakfast offered a great variety in a nice room. Easy 7 minute walk to downtown. Room was quiet and comfortable.

This inn is very cute and in a great location to explore Carmel. They had snacks laid out in the breakfast room when we checked in, a great breakfast in the morning (loved the crustless quiche!), and convenient packaged snacks to take with us when we left for our next adventure. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. There was a filtered water dispenser so we could refill our water bottles, and we loved the fireplace and tub in our room. Everything was clean, too! We loved staying here and would definitely come back if we are in Carmel again!

Walking distance to every place Nothing to dislike

Bed was comfortable. Good location on the edge of town walkable to shops and restaurants as well as the beach. I liked the fireplace in the room. The room was nice enough, but needs updating. Breakfast was sub par. I was expecting freshly cooked breakfast at a bed and breakfast inn, but instead it was store bought pastries, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit, and a reheated quiche. We expected more from a close to $400 per night stay.

Breakfast everyday, cleanliness, bed comfort, room value! Girls trip with two bathrooms- yes please. This made getting ready so nice A few maintenance issues need to be addressed

Room was good, clean and comfortable

In addition to breakfast they have all sorts of extra accommodations; large rain umbrellas, dog strollers, board games, beach buckets, filtered water fountain and snacks. The 1br was large and felt like a private apartment. We weren’t able to get a 2nd floor room, but the 1st floor is above street level, so you get privacy and parking. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We could hear our neighbors talking through the walls and walking above us. Nothing outrageous, but something to note.

Jackie was terrific and helpful in getting checked in and help with a loud furnace. The breakfast and snacks were a surprise and much better than the standard muffins and coffee. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

Staff was incredibly welcoming. Five star dog friendly and convenient. Walkable close to town but not noisy close. Decor could use a fluff up.

Wonderfully positioned cottage-like inn that is tucked away from the busier, yet quaint, part of downtown Carmel. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was simple but good, and the location just a couple blocks away from shops, wine tastings, and restaurants. We loved our time spent there.

This place was amazing! The staff were phenomenal. The rooms were phenomenal and the location is superb. It was great to have our own parking spot along with the free breakfast and snacks throughout the day! They were extremely knowledgeable on activities and things to do around the area.

Beautiful facility and wonderful staff surprised by policy not to leave dog in room…cost of $200 for dog sitter was unexpected but dog sitter was really nice!!!

Comfortable accommodations for two separate couples. Appreciated the double bathrooms. Staff was absolutely lovely. Enjoyed the breakfast. Nothing about the Inn, but thought that it was a bit closer to the center of town and the beach. No big deal. It was. A good walk.
