Horizon Inn and Ocean View Lodge

Lovely setting and accommodations. Enjoyable but dated and still enjoyable. Received well at registration desk; Rudy was very helpful. Breakfast was totally great and lots of coffee available. Interior bath and room were very clean but tired and needs updating.

Loved the close proximity to beautiful Carmel. Loved the gorgeous courtyard with spa and fireplaces to gather around in the evening. Loved the wine and cheese on offer from 4 - 6pm every night. Beautiful, quiet grounds and friendly, helpful staff. For two of us in the bed, it was too soft.

If it wasn’t for the location this hotel would be getting a lower rating. The property is very outdated (1980’s furniture & appliances are very worn and outdated in room). The staff was not very friendly. We were put in an ADA room, even though we did not book an ADA room. This room was poorly renovated into an ADA room with grab bars installed so awkwardly in the restroom that we couldn’t even sit comfortably on the toilet without the grab bar hitting your arms. The make up mirror was placed lower on the wall so I was not able to use it as I am not in a wheelchair. The hot tub much much larger in the photos than it actually is only a 5 person capacity hot tub). Definitely much nicer places to stay in this area for $400 per night. We will not be returning.

Great large room. Dressing gowns provided. Large fireplace. Cosy and homely. Would just suggest the rooms need a decor update but that’s being picky in terms of aesthetics

Everything! The grounds were clean and well maintained. The beautiful flowers everywhere made it extra special. Loved the fireplace, fire pit and hot rub area. Nothing.

Great location, the morning continental breakfast deliveries were such a cute touch! The staff were so helpful and approachable. The spa patio is a must visit. The bed was not the most comfortable. A little hard for my liking but some may like it extra firm.

Location. Expensive

Our stay was great. The location is walking distance to so many things, and the front desk staff gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and shopping. The continental breakfast was delivered to our door in the mornings in a cute picnic basket, and everything was fresh. The balcony was comfortable, and we had an ocean view. Lovely weekend!!
