Wayside Inn

This was even better than I expected! Our room seemed newly redone and the property is so convenient to walking around town. Loved our stay!

We wished to inquire about the free breakfast but no one answered the phone as Front Desk before 8AM? Most travelers get going early in the AM. Had to eat breakfast elsewhere.

Beautiful, large rooms in a wonderful location. The mattress is very comfortable. Everything was very clean and well taken care of.

Staff was great!! We were the first to stay in our renovated room which was done really fantastic!! The only downside was the water pressure in the shower was very weak. I let the office know and hope the fixed it! Its truly a quaint awesome property!! My other regret is I left the hotel before They opened the front office and I didn’t get my cookies!! Ughh they were really good and i got them during our check in! I would definitely stay there again!!

Location is great The staff was very rude, we asked for a crib and when we arrived they didn´t have a matress for it and told us we were suppost to bring our own as most people do. There is limited spots to park so if you came back later than other guests, the only option is to park outside and get up at 7am to move your car since it's nos allowed to park there during daytime.

The room is clean! The cleaning staff is wonderful and spoke Spanish like myself and my partner. Parking spots go fast, but, also? people come and go all day.

Great location. Great staff. Roll out of bed and you’re right there!

I booked this hotel based on the pictures of rooms. It looked so bright and cheery... Not So.. We had room #3. It was in an alcove and the room was the darkest hotel room I have encountered on my travels. The king suite was ok, it had a gas fireplace, but you needed lights during the day. The king size bed and sofa were terrible. Both very worn, and need to be replaced, very uncomfortable. I also did not like that you had to exit the bedroom through the bathroom to get to the small living room area. It was also a little overpriced for the condition of bed and sofa. Liked where the property is located, and of course love Carmel, but did not really like room #3.

The room was big and comfortable. I enjoyed the fireplace and spa tub. The amenities were very nice. The location was perfect - in town, but still quiet. NA

The location was great, check in was easy, and the room was large and clean. We only got one parking permit with the room but street parking was pretty available. The beds looked smaller than queens but were comfortable.

Always book this lovely spacious room. Cozy and comfy!

Wayside was a lovely choice for us. Free parking and walkable to everything we wanted. Staff were all courteous and helpful. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early and an hour late. The beds and bedding are luxurious and so comfortable. There were premium channels, such as HBO and MAX. Plenty of USB/USBC chargers next to the beds. There were lots of lovely details, like soft robes, a fan and extra comforter in the closet. There was mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room with real half/half. Toiletries, including shampoo, shower gel and a shower cap. The lobby always had complimentary coffee, apples, fresh baked cookies, candy and hot tea assortment, ready to go. They also had complimentary filtered water and a thermos instead of single-use plastics.

We’ve been traveling for the last month staying in hotels in Canada and the east coast. Some were national chains with the name starting in H. We wouldn’t return to any of them. When we checked-in at The Wayside, we knew we had found someplace special. The owners genuinely care about your experience and you can feel it. They even provided take-away Thermos bottles to limit the use of throw away plastic. Nothing to report.
