JW Marriott Charlotte

Beautiful location the heart of uptown. There is literally no parking here. You can only valet or pay $20 in the parking garage every time you come and go. I would’ve never stayed here if I knew that prior to arriving. Hotel pool was WAY different than how it is pictured online. It is so small and there are no hot tubs or further amenities that really made me say “wow”. It was a beautiful hotel, but I got really nothing out of any of the amenities here- it was a wild cost for a pretty mid hotel.

The JW Marriott was wonderful. The room was nice and had a contemporary feel. The restaurants and bars, in the hotel, had excellent food and drinks. The bar tenders are great mixologist and chefs are talented as well. The hotel is located in the center of downtown Charlotte, with in walking distance to NASCAR hall of fame and many museums. The Charlotte international airport is only 20 minutes away.

Decent location. I was very disappointed in my stay. I couldn’t check in at the requested time and was given incorrect room keys. It was a terrible check in process and rooms were not good for the price. Hard beds and almost missed a dinner reservation due to the front desk not having rooms ready until well after 5pm.

I learned that Marriott has its own check in policies that differ from Expedia’s policies. Never during my extensive travels has my reservation been canceled when my flight arrived in the morning. I thought I was helping the hotel by prepaying for part of a stay even though I would not be there for the initial hours. Without prepaying for the space, our room of choice would not have been available after our overnight flight. This was by far the worst check in experience ever.
