Wingate by Wyndham Charlotte Airport I-85/I-485

I travelled here with my wife and cousins recently and the pictures on the internet really fooled us. The hotel was nothing like it looked on the website and the room was outdated! There was a transport driver (Jerry) which SHE had came to come pick us up from the airport who was clearly high and smoking weed before picking us up from the airport, how do you know? you ask (well) the van smelt like weed, and to top that off there was a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant next to the hotel that we were recommended (in which the food was good) but on the walk back over to the hotel guess who we see in the bushes smoking weed the “the transporter” she heard us coming and walked off. I do not recommend this hotel at all if you are looking for what you see in the pictures online! Although the stay was a mess the lady at the desk on the night shift was very helpful and nice.

Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. Pillows like rocks and bed very hard. I’m sure some people love a hard bed but the mattress were old and you could tell.

Nice room and helpful staff. Good shuttle to and from airport.

Hotel is old, dingy, and poorly lit. Only had one person at the check out who was not friendly or helpful. We booked as it advertized the airport shuttle was 24/7 but then we arrived and called for pick up from the airport we were informed it only runs until midnight and therefore would need to arrange a different ride. Bed was stiff, springs dug into me. Pillows were like air no stuffing to them which left my neck stiff and sore. Whole placed reeked of cigarette smoke. Breakfast provided was cold items only.

Room was 512, chair had stains on it, gold table/lamp by bed did not work. Bathroom door did not close, no exhaust fan in bathroom. Door was splintered on bottom due to moisture.

I appreciated the airport shuttle and free breakfast. Hotel was nice.

Nice clean room, felt safe walking out my car at night. The hotel is showing its age a little, but is clean and very well maintained. Not many places to eat near there, don’t bother with the Mexican restaurant two minutes away like the receptionist said, NO Bueno! Friendly staff and decent breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this hotel.

It is close to the airport The room was large with a chair and a desk The water pressure in the shower was great There is a coin laundry for guests There is a workout area There is a reliable shuttle and a decent breakfast It’s a bit older and could use and update, but everything was clean and comfortable - I have no complaints

Staff were helpful, the price was very good. Spent one unscheduled night there due to flight cancellations. Badly ripped sofa, a bed so close to the wall you could barely get in on on one side and badly chipped and damaged furniture in the lobby. Still for one night I don't regret my decision to stay here. The place was clean and close to the airport with a reliable and friendly shuttle operator and that is all we needed. Still it is a shame that a small investment cannot be made in this property which borrows the Wyndham name.

Decent place for a quick night stay. Little older but not bad. Was disappointed to find out the shuttle stops running at midnight though. We had to get an uber. Should probably state that in the listing.
