Chattanooga Marriott Downtown

Great location. Nice hotel. Expensive and very crowded partly due to location. Great little city. Parking and front lobby was cramped and tight to move around in. Parking garage was quite a distance from the entrance of hotel. . Long walk with baggage.

The location was perfect. Very close to my conference. Lots of options for food within walking distance.

Could not get any cold water out of the faucet in the bathroom.

The pool area was great, ice machine on each floor was great. No microwave in my room was horrible, we ate dinner in the restaurant, we had lunches down street. Left overs we had go to floor 3, we had no paper plates to carry hot food back up 6 floors. (Rooms need microwaves) or should be able have front desk to bring one to your room if needed.

Front desk staff and the Valet service was great cleaning staff was great. Breakfast was great Breakfast staff was great Momma Trice she made everyone feel welcome great hospitality .

First night we had no hot water, they said they would get it fixed while we were out. Came back in the afternoon, it was never fixed. There was no record of a problem. Maintenance came up to fix, changed a part in the shower then then the shower didn't work at all. They moved me to another room on day 3. Went to the restaurant at the bar, took 10 mins for anyone to wait on us. Went up to breakfast on Saturday, you can only get the buffet, which is not what we wanted. It's a limited buffet. Again, waited almost 10 mins to be seated. The waitress Mama? Was the highlight of the trip. She was so friendly, engaging, concerned about my crappy stay there and also provided me with details on services offered at the hotel that should be explained when you check in. I had just stayed at a DC Marriott and drive down from there it was very disappointing especially after staying in one that was so top notch. Rooms were clean, beds were nice, pillows are way too soft.

I originally parked and paid as there is virtually no parking (other than in the gated garage) on site, and this particular location was very limited at the entrance. After check-in I was provided a hang tag which obviated the need. This was a bit confusing and different than my usual other experiences at a Marriott. But, parenthetically, I regularly stayed at a couple of the Marriotts in Walnut Creek California several years ago when I traveled to my work headquarters and typically used the valets when I checked in. I didn't do that this time, because the valet spots in front of the hotel were already filled with autos. So for the most part, that was merely my fault due to my desire to get checked in as quickly as possible.
