Holiday Inn Express Chesapeake - Norfolk by IHG

When we came back that night the night clerk told us no towels were available but he could offer us a bath mat to dry off with that it’s the same as a towel. We declined his offer and went to our room. When we opened the door to the room the musty smell was still there. We rolled our suitcase over to the corner and laid it down. Took our shoes off and the carpet was soaking wet from the air conditioner leaking. We called down to the front desk and again the clerk was ZERO help. The next morning we went to the front desk and a very nice and helpful man named Isaiah listened to our concerns and immediately gave us a different room and made sure we had towels. Breakfast was a JOKE! They ran out of food on both days and the lady who works in the breakfast room was RUDE! We asked for food and she was very rude and hateful and told us they were all out! So, the experience at the Holiday Inn Express was not good. More like a Red Roof Inn or Microtel.

Very clean ! The stay was comfortable as well.

Cleanliness of the room was really good. That is what we loved the most about styau g in this hotel. The breakfast was good as well, in general better than continental breakfast offered at other hotels. Very satisfied with our stay here.

Everything Nothing

And when you needed them, it was an inconvenience for them that's just unacceptable When you're dealing with the public, every single day of your life. I'm just speaking my mind telling you exactly how it was. I know it's not gonna change, and no one's gonna get reprimanded for it. I guess I will just have to go back to staying at the Hiltons. One thing, I will say, just so not everything's negative.The room was nice.The beds were comfortable and the pillows were comfortable and I slept well until nine am when housekeeping was definitely going to wake you up against your will. Oh, the other thing I wanna say that I forgot to say is there is no tag to put on the door that says, Do Not Disturb like what hotel motel does not have a Do Not Disturb sign. I've never stayed at one that didn't have that, Except for yours, and there was no Bible. What is this world coming to?

My 2nd room was not ready for a couple hours after we arrived

The room was not clean during my stay, I did not like that. Room smells like mildew. But the desk staff was very nice there was a lot of parking. Breakfast was nice.

The breakfast was pretty good and the staff was courteous. The Air conditioning did not cool properly, the staff was notified so hopefully it will cool better for the next guest. The pool could use a deep cleaning. For the price you pay for a Holiday inn, I expected better, especially based on previous reviews I saw. When I took my grandson for stroll around the parking lot, I could smell pot and saw what appeared to be a couple of employees smoking in their car. The stench of pot is very unpleasant.

They were short staffed so the room wasn’t ready, but everything was immaculate once we entered. Wry nice breakfast and stay

Did not have a good experience

Clean room, easy check-in

I had 7 am flight and looked forward to having a cup of fresh coffee for my drive to the airport. Unfortunately, there were no coffee cups available when I went to make coffee and no one was around to get more. Front desk was unmanned at 4:45 am. Otherwise stay was fine.

Older property - our room had a blown window and a cracked tile; we paid $75 more per night through Expedia than 5 other family units in our group who booked through other sites. We will not be returning to this property and will check other sites for rates before booking again.

Breakfast was plentiful and parking was easy.

some one either threw up or spilled liquid on rug inside front entrance. they put a wet floor sign up til it dried then left the dried mess there all weekend. 4 of us were staying in the room, when we arrived we had 2 washcloths nothing else!! called front desk and was told they couldn’t leave desk so we went down to pick up towels and were told they were in dryer , come back in 10 minutes. that could have been explained when we first called them…. the rod holding our shower curtain was hanging on by a thread so curtain couldn’t be pulled shut for taking a shower.

We came to our room about 1:30am and there was no towels or wash cloths in room so that we can take a shower. My son went downstairs the next morning around 9 am and the lady said that they had no clean linens. How you didn’t have any the whole day before or the next morning. Did they check the rooms. So mad I had to go buy towels to wash

No coffee pot in room. Breakfast okay.

Pool area and room was nice and clean. The first night there the bathroom tub and a leak which leaked into the wall by the sink and door. Maintenance did come but nothing was fixed or no new room accommodations

Everything else left us wanting. There were no coffee pots in the room, the hallways smelled like extremely strong Clorox that lingered. The guests were loud and they began slamming their doors at 5:00am and staff didn’t say anything. The exterior side door keypads did not work which made parking around the back and sides difficult. We ended up leaving a day early and will not be staying there again when we come back to the area.
