Been coming here since 1990. Often stay here two or three times every 12 months. We used to live in the neighborhood so this location is perfect. Unfortunately, the last two visits I’ve not gotten the room I booked . In both instances your excellent staff made it all good. The problem is that the new room remodels pretty much lack any of the charm, if you want to call it that, of the older rooms (we usually do the suites) though with a warmer more comfortable decore. Sadly I think our 36

Really great location. If you looking for a walkable neighborhood with a lot of food options this hotel is perfect.

Unique property in great location. Friendly staff and nice bar/restaurant attached-Americano.

This is an older hotel in a terrific location, right in the heart of Lincoln Park and an easy walk from restaurants and bars in Old Town. Onsite there was a coffee shop, a bar/restaurant with outdoor seating, a rooftop bar, and a highly rated sushi restaurant. I tried all of them with the exception of the sushi restaurant, and they were all great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Being an older property, it did give off a “tired” vibe, especially in the room. But everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was perfectly acceptable if not fancy. The wi-fi never seemed reliable in my 8th floor room, and I couldn’t get my tv to work (which may have been related). The staff member who checked me in was very helpful, as I actually had two separate reservations. He combined them for me and actually put me in an upgraded room, which was very nice of him. All in all, I would stay there again.

The hotel is billed as a boutique hotel which assumes good fit and finish. That is not the case. There was a lot of scuffed floorboards, an air conditioner that appeared to be put in its place by eighth graders. The elevator had some paint or other stuff on its walls continuing with the fit and finish issue. The room was cleaned every day with no one suggesting the environmental advantages of not cleaning it...;). We also left our room late usually and the hotel still cleaned the room, made the beds etc. Well done! The room was very small but it did have a spectacular view of Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. We lived out of our suitcases given the lack of space. There was no room to put down a yoga mat....and barely enough room at the "health club" for the yoga mat as wall. However, almost no one was in the gym during our stay so for two people it was fine. The price was about $100 per day more than usual which made our expectations higher. However, at its traditional price (based on Hotel.com pricing) the hotel was fine.

This hotel has a lot of character. The location is great. The rooftop bar is fun with good cocktails and an amazing view!

I appreciated the drink vouchers to the roof top lounge. The roof top has nice views of the lake and city. The area feels safe. The Lake is walkable. The staff were friendly and kind. The room was clean.

No microwave and the coffee pot was a little dusty, (I didn’t use it) otherwise the room and staff was good

Besides that, everything was nice.

Very clean and staff were incredibly friendly. Only complaint was lack of in room amenities, but now that I know I could be a bit better prepared and would definitely stay again.

The staff was very unfriendly. At most hotels, the staff will greet you as you come and go. The staff here wouldn't even bother looking up. They gave us free drink tickets to use at the rooftop bar that evening and when we got there, there was a private party so we could not go. Would it have been nice to tell us? When I asked about it the next day, they said, "we didnt know about it" and went back to staring at their computer. We have been there before, but will not return. The room itself was OK, except for the very loud wall air conditioner that kept going off and on all night.

Small hallways hard to move the luggage carts around without hitting the walls.

The location and the staff are great, but this hotel needs a refresh. My room smelled terrible and the window air conditioner was loud and unpleasant. The room was also carpeted and it made the whole room feel unclean. Grateful for the coffee vouchers at check in, the coffee is very good- but I did wish they offered bottled water at the desk or in the room. My last concern is security. No keys are needed to access the guest floors- not even from the elevator that services the roof top bar. It stops on every floor and is accessible right from the front door before check in.

Great location and the rooms were updated Hallway rugs were dirty, and hallway were a little dinged up. TV didn't work at all and couldn't stream.
-
The location and the staff The room, while comfortable, was not a Junior suite. It was a lovely average sized hotel room with a bathroom.
-
I liked the complimentary drink at the bar each day I stayed. There were no unpleasant surprises.
