The Chicago Hotel Collection Ambassador Gold Coast

The hotel was a very convenient location from downtown and Lake Michigan. Definitely one of the better breakfasts I've had recently and the pricing sits just right for the amenities and convenience this hotel offers

Perfect location.

I did not like this hotel despite being in a great neighborhood. Noisy, you can hear your neighbors, decor insipid in beige/gray, marijuana smoke coming from emergency stairwell into room, no water in room nor any coffee or room service.

Stayed for a couple of days with my wife, no real issues. Room was clean and well-maintained, bed was comfortable. We did not op for the vip package so we were room only. All our needs were met and we would come back!

This hotel has everything you need without the outrageous price tags of other Chicago hotels. I will be staying here again. Wonderful trip!

Great experience on my first trip to Chicago

Wonderful service in the dining room from Marco or something like that. He was thoughtful and went out of his way to help,p us A+

Unfortunately, that’s where my love for the hotel stops, and I’d think twice about staying here again only because of these specific reasons: 1) housekeeping cleans every three days. Our stay was three days so we didn’t get any freshening up. This wouldn’t feel like that big of a deal, if on day 1, we didn’t spot black mold on the bathroom all through out. 2) bathrooms are small and have no ventilation (hence the reason for the black mold, likely), and there is not much shelving to place toiletries and other items 3) the walls are thin. Our crew woke up every night to people talking on either side of our room, making our sleeps a bit restless. I really want to stay here again. I think there is an opportunity to give such a beautiful piece of history a little bit of love in the areas where people sleep, making it feel cleaner, more functional, and quiet.

They let us in before 4pm. Very accommodating and respectful all the staff. Location is best.

Perhaps I had a lot of expectations for the hotel.

Great location 2 blocks to Lake Michigan! Room was very nice. Bed was really comfortable except it was low to the ground like a futon. No coffee maker in room. coffee in lobby. Parking is valet and convenient but pricey 82 per day. Fir us it was worth it. Navy pier is close, LINCOLN PARK ZOO has the best gorilla exhibit ever! And zoo is free! Dont go to saquarium if it a football game day no parking so we missed out. The boat tour at Navy pier is so worth the low cost to see lake Michigan! Breakfast buffet at hotel is decent. Bar is nice. Deck on the 17th foor is wonderful.

I like the huge porcelain tube with accessible bars. The hotel as a whole was elegant. There were a couple of issues as there were shirt stairs and no accessible or elevator to get up to the lobby. There also is no dedicated staff to help with getting luggage to lobby forcing personal at their grace to assist to elevator. I give much thanks to those individuals. In the morning there was group that had to wait singularly to use one espresso coffee make. It is an exclusive neighborhood some parking is limited and there is an attending valet. Very nice bars in view. It has a bus route a few blocks #151, #2 if walking toward the shore, seawall.The whole lobby and resturant, and lounges are very well decorated, luxurious.

We got married here when it was Public Chicago 10 years ago. It’s gone downhill since. The room was not well maintained, they need to be updated. There were stains on the comforter. The shower was very hard to turn on. The pull out couch was very uncomfortable however our bed was very comfortable. There’s no daily housekeeping- we were there for three nights and nothing was touched, not even refreshed towels. I requested a bottle of champagne to the room and got no response. We would have taken advantage of the $79 club offer but we’re not even asked about it upon check in. It was great to be back to see the spot where we said “I Do” but we won’t be back.

You will be catfished from the pictures. It’s an old vibe and they have yellow lighting which is nothing compared to what the pictures show. The beds are so low it feels like you’re sleeping on the ground which are not shown in any of the pictures. We were disappointed as soon as we walked in. The bathroom was the most disappointing, we had a sink that had the faucet placed on the left side while we were expecting an island kind of sink as per the pictures for the double standard room. The water pressure is very low and the showerhead is very low so if you’re just above the average height you will have to bend down to shower, amenities weren’t fully stocked and the shower handle kept popping out everytime we showered. We also believe there was mold on the tiles/roof after near the curtain hanger. Overall not worth the stay. Outside and the lobby is beautiful but the rooms are not.

Unfortunately the cons out weighed things: 1) Bugs in the room. After 4 nights in the room, the wife’s legs and abdomen were covered it bites and welts. 2) Bed too low. As seniors, the futon type bed was too low to get easily in and out of. 3) Front desk staff inattentive. Upon arriving, we were not given breakfast or drink vouchers. On last night they gave vouchers but we were unable to use them. No explanation of hotel amenities or services. 4) toilet paper roll was replenished only after 2 requests 5) bag help. Bag/hdcp elevator did not work and no one offered to help carry bags up/down entry flight of stairs. Again, being a senior, a like help would be appreciated. Overall, the bug and bed issues were reported twice and no one followed up. I would have expected at least a concerned response. This alone stops us from recommending this property

awesome location! but for the price i paid on expedia i could’ve stayed somewhere way more maintained, clean, and up-to-date. Felt like a rip off.

The location of the hotel is great. This used to be a great hotel. We had 6 bags and there was no one to help get them to the room. The room was very sparse .. a large white box. When we checked out the clerk never looked up, asked about our stay or offered us help to get the bags down the stairs. I’ve stayed here before when it was nicer but will not stay again and cannot recommend it. It needs cleaned up . There was a crack in the sink and the tile in bath needed replaced.
