Good place to stay

We had a nice 1 night stay for a concert. We were a bit bummed because I had originally booked a room with 2 queen beds which they had oversold. We got a room with a King and a pull out couch bed, which was fine, but we were looking forward to the 2 queen beds!! Overall it was a quick and easy stay! Thanks!

I was traveling with family and we twice requested adjoining rooms before our arrival but no one bothered to note that. When checking in they were able, after some time and effort, to put us in adjoining rooms. However, one of the rooms was not ready even though it was 3:30 and check in was at 3:00. So we proceeded to the one room that was ready. We were able to see in the room that we were waiting for and it was clean and appeared ready. At 4:00 we had to go down to the lobby area for something and while there I asked why we were not able to go into the other room yet. They said that they were waiting for a supervisor to approve the room. It was about 4:40 when we were finally able to access the room. We had an early dinner reservation at 5:15 and almost missed it because no one would take a few minutes to approve the room and let us in. Very poor customer service and lack of concern for our plans. The second morning we had breakfast they ran out of several items of food and we even had to wait 15 minutes for forks. I wasn't expecting a 5 star visit but these are basic expectations that should be easy to handle.

The room was very comfortable and spacious and the views of the city were fabulous!! I found out that we could have parked our car ourselves and not paid as much to Vallet.

Downsides: we were very fortunate to find a streetside overnight parking spot, which was free because it was a Sunday night. Otherwise, the only option was valet parking at $72/night; we don't stay in downtown Chicago often so not sure if this is a typical price. Check in started at 3:00, but when we arrived at 5:30 our room still wasn't ready. We waited another 30 minutes until we could access our room. All in all, the room was great and we would stay here again.
