Americas Best Value Inn Clear Lake

The room was clean and the location was great for me - close to a few gas stations and multiple restaurants. If your room is anywhere near the front desk area of the hotel, you will have a very strong smell of incense creep into your room at least twice a day, around 6:00 AM and again in the early evening. It emanates from the breakfast room, where it is so strong it made me choke.

They sent me to 3 rooms before I found one that had been cleaned, The ceiling in the hallway was coming down in spots. There was mold / mildew on the ceiling in the bathroom. The breakfast was not very much. Overall for the cost for the night I have definitely stayed in nicer hotels. I have stayed in worse hotels for sure. The room (once we found one that was cleaned) was fine other than the bathroom ceiling.

The restroom was not cleaned very well. Hair in a couple of places. The sheets and pillow covers need replacing. The may have been clean but are old and stained. The man at the front desk was very hard to understand his accent. Won't be back.

Clean room nice staff- breakfast was so-so

Never stayed. Front desk was rude. Even though I had a confirmation the asked me to step aside. There were 10 others with same issues.

Arrived at the property to check in only to be informed I wasn't quote in their computer.I had confirmation number in my hand !!! How does that happen with today's technology?? 😡😡

Check in was not friendly or welcoming but reasonably efficient. Got to the room and it smelled very musty. Then noticed the carpet was very wet in front of the bathroom. The tv was on when I arrived. Bed was comfortable enough. When I went to shut the tv off it would not shut off. I finally unplugged it. Breakfast was very basic and equipment not clean looking. Son in law was chewed out for disposing of the disposable waffle cup. Was told to wash it out. I didn’t expect much for the price but was still disappointed.

When I first walked in I was met with a clean fresh entrance . Room was clean bed was comfortable Ac cold staff friendly.

Floors should be vacuumed better

Would not recommend at all. Nasty. Small area to eat breakfast. (Didn't eat there when we walked in it was full of foriegners and STUNK) Couldn't understand staff at counter. Was upcharged for a double bed room since they didn't have a king non smoking room. Said i reserved a smoking room. I'm a non smoker i would not. The worst hotel experience ever.

The property was awful with used bed mattresses and trash all over

Very old neglected property. Obvious mold in the bathroom and the furnishings were very dated. Carpet was stained, the toilet ran constantly, the bathroom exhaust fan sounded like an airplane taking off. The room wasn't filthy, but certainly wasn't cleaned to typical hotel standards. The price was relatively cheap and we were only there for a few hours of sleep.

Heavy smell of marijuana, our room was not clean. There were ashes all over the bedside table and the sink sprayed water.

Kitchen area unclean. The front desk was not staffed all the time. Weird smell all over. Old mattresses in the back just strewn aside. Dangerous playground. Burn marks on bed covers.

All though, the worst issue was the lack of security. Never again will I stay here.

U waiting more then 20 minutes to check in and i call several time at front desk and tha lady how answer the phone say I'm coming and take forever they don't care the customer

Was disappointed that we couldnt check in early, due to the fact that they only had 1 housekeeper. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and very comfortable, good parking,the breakfast was ok.

Staff were very nice and helpful
