Super 8 by Wyndham Clear Lake

Room: Not bad if you pack your own vacuum cleaner, coffee pot and water cups. Otherwise - dont drop anything in any corners or small spaces (such as by the bed, behind the bathrooom door...etc) you arent willing to part with after its coated in the mystery substances lurking in those areas.

Easy place to check in and crash for the night. Clean enough for a night. Staff is super super nice. Lower level rooms are in line with the parking lot on both sides so people moving trucks was very loud. But beds were comfy and its in a great spot to get to the lake or Mason City!

Location, close to freeway & gas station. Mattress was well worn, AC unit was dirty and didn't worn, tub was dirty, refused to use. Toilet was loose. No glasses in the room for water. Carpet was worn & old.

There were no safety bars in the tub.

The fitted sheet had a cigarette burn hole the size of a quarter, The shower head connection pipe shot water out sideways out of the shower. The shower tube had either black mold or black grease markings all over it. The shampoo container in the shower was empty. I could go on and on!! If our check-in time wasn’t at 11:30 after a long trip we would have bolted to somewhere else. My wife was appalled to say the least. Never, ever never stay at this dump!!

The second night I was above ground level, so the room was more comfortable, but the air conditioner was substandard. The ceiling in the bathroom was heavily spotted with mold. This hotel needs to be renovated.

Breakfast was bare, waffle, bread or cereal

Check in was easy and quick. The room was clean, had toilet paper, soaps and shampoo. The tv worked well, Air conditioning was cold, bed was comfy, good water pressure, plus breakfast included. If you're in town and need a place to rest, I'd recommend stopping.

Property should probably be reviewed for a complete renovation. Not just cosmetically.

Odor in the room. The place felt dingy

Not much Very dirty my shower towel had dried shit all over it, like somebody used it to wipe their ass

The staff at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant!!!

No drink cups in room, shower head fell in tub, no shampoo or conditioner.

The thing i didn't like was how you can hear other guest walking on the top floors and in the hallway

The staff was very friendly, but the bed had a LARGE divot (basketball-sized), and the coffee was so weak you could see through to the bottom of the cup. The breakfast was also pretty sketchy-looking, so we passed on that. The place was pretty clean, though.

We're supposed to get 2 queen sized bed but they were both twins. So had to get another room.

Bathroom mold on ceiling not shampoo soap small towels no drinking cups . Cheap but not cheap enough. If we werent tired wold have got refund and left property .

Spilled some water on the carpet and used a towel to dry it up. The towel was filthy - I don't think the carpet has been cleaned a for long time. Disappointed with this room, not recommending this place

A reasonable place to stay for basic lodging. 1 room was very clean, one not so much. Beds were fine for short (1 night stay). A little softer than referred. We were in town for a funeral, this hotel fit our needs. Staff were fairly responsive. The breakfast was bare basics but adequate.

Have stayed there 2x now for 4th of July celebration and it’s good place for price and staff is always friendly and helpful.
