Best Western Holiday Lodge

Hate that the air conditioner blows directly onto bed. To keep the room at a decent temperature you have to turn thermostat down but then it blows cold air directly on you in bed. There was no creamer with the coffee maker in room, which is odd as it's usually all packaged into one little baggie with sugar/subst/stirer. Free breakfast left A LOT to be desired. Couple of employees were standing talking when we arrived then quickly disappeared. Tried to use the pancake maker but not working (a sign would have been nice). The eggs-just a few in warmer and they were sitting in water. Sausage-did not seem to be fully cooked. Gravy-hardly any in warmer and what was there had congealed into a thick paste. Yogurt machine not working, then turned out it had never been turned on. No fresh fruit for yogurt. There was an apple and an orange available. There was one woman that finally was birnging up fresh food, I assume from the kitchen. Did not try it as we had already finished, maybe it was better. Biscuit was good as were the muffins.

The toilet had not been cleaned, gross. There was a dead fly stuck to the window, ick! Roomy. Comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was ok, not great.

Front desk staff was super helpful and patient on our check in! It was pretty late and he was extremely kind.

Blood and pink inked stained sheets. Bennigens is a joke. I water merky in pool and don’t ask the night time staff for towels or anything.

The Breakfast is lacking a variety, as there was nothing hot besides the waffles.

The property needs upgrades and the room was not clean. We had to call maintenance to fix the toilet. Not an ideal stay.

The property does not look anything like the website represents. Our room was the size of a matchbox, and I believe the bathroom needs a little bit of renovation to make it more friendly for older people.

The air conditioner didn't want to cool the room lower than 72° until the morning which can be a problem for hot sleepers in the summer. Their was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The room seemed quiet but the air conditioner was droning all night which I'm fine with but others may not be. It is a good budget friendly hotel for short stays in my opinion.

Our stay was great, stopped for the night and had a great rest in a clean room. Air conditioner was a little noisy, probably just needs the filter cleaned more often. The bed mattress was super comfy, TV worked great, and continental breakfast was very good, well stocked and saved us from having to go somewhere else, saving us money. Would recommend.

I've always been loyal to a Best Western but will no longer honor or seek out. Due to a "booking" issue the chain office would not acknowledge I stayed at a Best Western. I now will seek out Choice Hotels or others. If you "stay and pay" you should get the points. It should not depend on how you booked your stay. They should be happy you actually picked a Best Western which was definitely not the nicest in the area!! Good bye Best Western. Sorry to the Clear Lake Best Western, you try very hard.

Benigan's Restaurant next door was helpful since the room wasn't ready at check-in time. Staff was very nice.

Because of short on help, us and many others waited 1 to 2 hrs for rooms to be cleaned after the 3 pm check-in

Perfect location and price for seeing a concert at the Surf. They even had a shuttle running to and from. Staff was super nice. The rooms clean and beds comforable. The rooms are old and outdated. Would stay again.

I was not happy that the room had a door to the outside and a door to the hallway. This was in the annex building out back and felt more like a motel. I would not stay here again.

Our one night stay went well. The room was nice and cool as well as clean. Beds were comfortable.

Very good. I thought the property was nice and the breakfast was good. The jet engine in the A/C unit was a bit much! LOL

I don't normally leave reviews but I don't want others to be fooled by the great rating like I was. Our room wasn't in the main building, it was in a separate back building that has seen better days, and I don't recall a disclaimer when I booked. The whole property was very musty smelling, and was worse when we entered our room. Everything was damp from humidity, sheets, pillows, towels, carpet. We turned on the heat to try and dissipate the smell and moisture, it helped a little. In the morning we just wanted to get out of there so we got up early and left, didn't even check out the breakfast, which we always do at hotels. Thankfully this was a one night stop while driving through, we would not have stayed if it was more than that.
