Fairfield Inn by Marriott St. Louis Collinsville, IL

Pool was under construction. Hotel was extremely basic and staff was non-existent. Upon checkout I was told that the room was not paid for and I needed to pay immediately . I paid for the room upon booking and even though I showed the desk attendant my receipt he demanded a credit card to leave. Will NOT stay here again, do not recommend. Checking out was EMBARRASSING

This hotel was fine but not great I’d say. The two dings to knock it from 4 to 3 stars was seeing like 4 ants in the bathroom and on the desk. And the breakfast options could have been better. For e.g., they had all these nice toppings, both healthy, and less healthy for oatmeal, but the oatmeal itself was the very sugary kind. They didn’t offer a healthy oatmeal for somebody who wants to eat healthy.

Good location as we traveled through. Nice breakfast. Clean and spacious room. We definitely recommend.

Empty the second day It wasn't refilled no hot water, cereal was empty. The bed had a problem with the mattress. It would move off the box spring.

One of my colleagues was locked out of their room from 10pm to 4:30am. The front desk was doing their best; however, the Hotel manager was on site and did nothing to help. There was essential equipment inside the room for the next day of work, and thus my colleague did not get any sleep that night.

When we arrived the lobby and desk was empty. I unloaded my luggage and waited for someone. 15 minutes later a lady showed up up from the parking lot and apologized saying there was a big sale at Kohls she couldn’t miss. Next morning there was no coffee, only 8 pieces of sausage left and a little scrambled eggs. Been traveling for forty years with my job and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Your company is going down the tubes!

Room was fine. No hair dryer. Breakfast was good.

It was a great place to stay but it seemed a couple of cosmetic updates needed to occur. The carpet under our room door and in the breakfast area was coming up and a tripping hazard. Also the chairs seats in the breakfast area were coming apart and need to be replaced.

Walls are extremely thin, you can hear everybody talking in the parking lot. The rooms are old and outdated, but the bed was comfortable. If you're staying here to get to the airport the next morning, make sure you don't need to be there before 7. Because the shuttle doesn't start until 7am.

The mold smell was horrible worse if you ran the heater or AC

We know Room wasn’t cleaned properly because we found a key card on the floor.

It was very close to where we needed to be. It didn't have a couch like it said but it still worked out.
