Hyatt Place Columbia/Downtown/The Vista

Close to restaurants and shops and venues we went for Columbia is HOT! Lol

The property was very close downtown to everything that I needed lot of restaurants around the property overall was just great

But location- was difficult!! 1. The address will get you to the hotel, but the entrance and parking is a different address that's back behind it. They have a note posted on the door (808 Lady St. Columbia) 2. It is located right on a very busy street, so all night long (least until 3am) there was loud trucks and cars, music blaring, revving up of vehicles etc. Literally, you can hear almost everything, which made for a long night and very little sleep. 3. Carolina Fans- its NOT A 5 MIN WALK. the website said 5 min was to UofSC but the stadium is 45min walk. You can shuttle tho. If you decided to take the shuttle, it's a decent little walk (12-15 mins) to the pickup/drop off. MAKE NOTE- when shuttling back- you will have a very long line to stand in to board the shuttle bc it hauls students as well. If it rains, you will be standing in the rain until its your turn to board a bus. Took us about 45mins to get on and head back (an yes, we stood in pouring rain the whole time last wknd!) Students started to get pushy and antsy an it turned into a bit of chaos btwn that an the storm. The commute is easy bc they kept the route open for the shuttles so getting back was a breeze once we got on.

Everything except the parking, but it was OK cause it was close to everything, but besides, that was an exceptional stay No complaints whatsoever

No coffee and staff was very slow to respond. Only one elevator was operating creating a lot of stress for fellow travelers.

Stay here from time to time when visiting my USC student. Convenient location, on site parking, love having a drink downstairs at the bar and breakfast is good. Rooms are nice and clean. Outside traffic noise can be loud, but it’s the city. We always travel with a fan to drown out noise.

Beds were very comfortable. Parking was easy. Location was central to walking to the Vista for dining or shopping.

Staff was excellent, room was very comfortable and buffet breakfast very good! Coffee was strong and plentiful, thank you!

The location was perfect for our visit including a concert at the Colonial Life center Bed was way too soft. Laundry facilities were not operational. Signage was vague. Hard to find the work out room, and the address listed led us to a busy street where we could not enter. (The main entrance is by the parking lot on the opposite side of the building)

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very nice.
