Sonesta Columbus Downtown

My wife and I had a room in their loft building — which is a converted wallpaper building from a long time ago. This is very different from the main building, so be aware of this when making a reservation here. Room was spacious and bathroom was very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating — especially the teams working the bar and breakfast. While our room was clean, the floor in the hallways needed a thorough cleaning. Also, the elevators in the loft building didn’t respond to the call button when we went to use them. Rather than taking a chance at getting stuck, we used the elevators in the main building and then walked down the hallway that connected the two buildings. Not a big deal — but the staff indicated that this had happened before.

The hotel room was great. Clean and comfortable. Right next to Nationwide arena. Public parking garage next door. We received a $19.00 credit for parking. We also received a $10 voucher for food but we're not told it was only good that day and not for breakfast the next morning

Excellent hotel. Beds and essentials are great. Bar and restaurant were excellent. Hope to stay here again.

The property was conveniently located across from the Convention center and we were pleasantly surprised to see a skywalk connecting the properties, keeping us dry from the rain! The rooms were nice and clean

The location was very close to the venue which hosted our conference. The Skyway access to the hosting venue worked out great. The staff was professional and very thorough. The construction around the hotel was problematic.

Very clean, very nice place to stay. Within walking distance of restaurants and events.

lack of hospitality and service.

The location is great & the lobby was pretty & welcoming. Our room was comfortable & quiet. We weren’t sure where to park (didn’t want to valet) but we ended up parking in the South Garage across the street attached to the convention center, which I would recommend.

Just need to fix the elevator!

Bed was comfortable. Restaurant was great There was a weird smell in the room and there was water on the bathroom floor all the time.

Close to where we were dining and the restaurant was very good for breakfast We booked a loft Jr suite for our anniversary. We we weee told at check in the room had “plumbing” issues and weee move to a king room. We were advised we would be compensated for the difference but would have to call booking.com for the refund. The hotel would submit it to them. We called them and they sent a message to the hotel. We checked at the front desk and were told an email was sent also to the general manager. We have nit heard back from anyone nor received a credit. Even with the credit I would have preferred a call in advance to advise our room was no longer available. We live 30 minutes and would have either changed hotels or cancelled the reservation. As it is now we are out the $$ for the Loft Jr suite and settled for a much different anniversary than was planned. Very disappointing and poor service. I should not have to do all the leg work to get compensated for the hotels problem.

Great location

Pleae make sure to ask about conventions or conferences during uour stay. I was tjere when it was a Furry convention and they were everywhere in costume and some did not smell well. However, the hotel is in a Great location. Some restaurants and events were in walking distance. Parking has in and out privileges. Room and hotel were clean. Staff was very helpful. Had a nice stay here and will stay again.

The wifi in this hotel was subpar at best. Perhaps the hotel was not ready for an entire convention's worth of people in attendance, but we had three guests in our room with a total of five phones and three laptops, and at best we could get one or two items connected to the wifi. This is unacceptable.

Awesome

Property, location and amenities were great they hit my largest pet peave! The king room deluxe was unavailable when I checked in which was reserved through Expedia a week in advance. Sent us to a small queen room at first and we had to go back. Then told all sold out but was able to find a double queen. That worked but a reservation is a reservation. The has heppened to me/us twice before and always with 3rd party sites like Expedia and Hotels. Never happens when booking directly with the hotel. Maybe lesson learned here and just alway book directly but use Expedia as the search engine.
