The outside amenities are fine, but inside, this hotel only provides the absolute basics: a bed and a bathroom with one soap bar and one shampoo. There is no coffee machine, no microwave, and not even a bottle of drinking water. Worse, the room had an intense damp smell that didn't clear even after leaving the door open for four hours, and the moisture absorbers provided were useless. Only stay here if you just need a place to sleep and shower for the night; otherwise, pass.

Wonderful motel in walking distance of UMiami. Very comfortable, great AC, and extremely reasonable price-wise. Everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is an old fashioned classic motel, a bit dated but fine for us

This place shouldn’t even have a license to operate. The costs of coral gables needs to be penalized for allowing such a business to operate. The rooms are filthy, mattresses are stained. Doors have large gaps underneath which could allow rodents to come inside. Floors weren’t cleaned. Bathroom was dirty. This was the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I paid for two nights but left after the first night because I couldn’t sleep in that filthy, nasty disgusting place. Please close them down NOW!!! I don’t like it Too much loud I heard everything from outside it’s not clean my room smell bad and old place everything it’s old and my bed is was wet it’s was water on the room the air conditioner it’s very old and stinky I don’t recommend this hotel if you want to visit Miami it’s very old hotel and it’s is not clean nothing . Definitely they need to make new hotel for sure.

The room was cold(good). Paying to park after you are renting a room I don't like. The grounds were not up to cleanliness. Parking spaces were tight. Room felt clean. Needs upgrades in rooms. Lots of patch work on doors and walls. Didn't see no ice machine or even a vending machine. Overall a decent place to crash overnight. Trying to find places to eat was a chore. Everything miles and miles away. Good place for a simple overnight.

For what it was, the quality is decent for the price you pay

Best thing about this property is the location (which is excellent). However, keep in mind that you will be hearing a train passing by, which is across the street, as well as the high local traffic. Rooms are bare bones basic. Clean, yes. AC was noisy, but it did work well. TV worked. Beds were OK.

The Gables Inn serves its purpose well. Close to the U, and with no frills. I've stayed there several times and have always found it clean and equipped as expected. Bed comfort is what took away 1 star. They often creak or squeak, and the mattresses are fairly old. But the AC works, and the refrigerator in the room, and coffee in the lobby are appreciated.

I chose the property for proximity to University of Miami but it was a terrible experience, nothing to like. Run down, dirty, loud from the cars passing and the train. I was very uncomfortable the entire time and was also given a different room than I paid for. It was dark, dank and hadn’t been updated in 30+ years. And they charged $10 to park in their nearly empty parking lot.

Their front desk staff is excellent. Great location
