The location. The musty smell in the room, dead bugs on the window sill, crumbs all over.

This it’s worth the money

Close to freeway Toilet ran all night long and shower had no hot water .

The air conditioner was continually leaking water, the carpet under and around the leak was soaked for several feet, the air was musty, damp and stuffy. Someone knew about this, as a pail had been placed under the leak. There were no other rooms avail. in town, so we could not leave. The staff refused to assess the leak or the dank air quality. The floor between the toilet and wall was also covered with water, when I wiped it with a paper towel it was dirty, obviously the floor hadn't been cleaned well. I forewarned the staff that we would check out the next day if they could not give us another room. The day staff also refused to assess the conditions in the room. We checked out the next morning, but they charged us for all 3 nights of our initial reservation.The manager never responded to our multiple phone calls and messages.

It was a good location close to everything The room smelled like moldy mildew as soon as we walked in the bed was so so and as we were checking in another guest checking out was showing pictures from his room with black mold on the curtains the breakfast looked nasty and the coffee was nasty

The staff here at Baymont seem to deal with a lot of crazy people but handle themselves very well. The police were called to the motel twice during our stay due to unruly guests and I never saw the staff act out aggressively towards those people. They maintained their composure well. Our room was clean. The only thing I would have liked more is if the beds were not so firmm and a better shower head.

The bed was comfortable I was completely miss led about this hotel. The reasons I chose it were either unavailable or did not work the way they should have. Under amenities, it said hot tub. There was no hot tub. It said wifi. Yes they had wifi, but we had to go to the lobby to get it. It did not work in our room. We could not find the hotel so I called it. The guy who answered told me where it was but did not mention that it was at the old Americ inn. Apparently baymont purchased it but had not changed the sign. I don't know how many times we drove by before I called them back and had to ask specifically if it was the Americ inn. We are NOT happy at all. The gal at the desk the evening of the 22nd had no idea what was going on. Completely clueless. I will be asking for a refund.

Strong mildew smell, most cabinets in the kitchen area of the room had some level of mold. They also expect a security deposit of $100, so expect to basically pay for your hotel room twice

Convenient location. Crappy looking room. Down at far end of hall, no Wifi signal. Staff didn't seem to care. Breakfast lacking choices. No napkins available. Napkins! Could have staff run and get some at the local grocery store to fill in until their next delivery. Instead, just a sign - "Napkins on order." Great sign... shows that they're aware they're out, but they don't care to do anything about it.

Mold in rooms, rooms were not cleaned, water in walls above ac unit making the wall soft and gross with bugs

Not 1 thing! Would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.....EVER! SUCKS Everything was BAD, toilet wouldn't work, smelled like fart and mold, fire alarm went off in early AM. And heard a guest complaining about BEDBUGS! Checked our mattress. Just to make sure! Paid over $800.00 for 2 rooms, what a scam you have going on here!

The room was filthy. There were stains on the bed, drip marks on walls, dirty air conditioning unit, and we saw two bed bugs in the morning.

Where do I start? Let’s see: checked in and bathroom light didn’t work. Took two visits to the front desk to get action on it. Once the light was fixed, saw that the shower was dirty and the toilet was worn (some of the plastic on the toilet was yellowing). Found a curtain rod under the AC and when I checked, all 4 rods were in place on blinds and curtains. Not sure where it could have come from? When we returned later in the evening, our keys did not work. Floor was dirty and my wife decided to sleep on top of the bed instead of rolling the dice. My son ended up sleeping on top of his bed, wrapped in a blanket. This has a ways to go to not be considered still an American. For the rest of my daughter’s time in Iowa City, I will not stay here again. Hope they have success after the transition.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but avoid this hotel. If you like dirty rooms, non-working televisions, warm fridges, and oddly confrontational staff, this is the place for you. It was so bad that we didn’t stay. You might see this as a Baymont, but it has old AmercInn branding. It had a mold and must smell. Other guests complained about excessively large hold charges on credit cards while I was waiting in the line. Pick another hotel.

Our room had mold on the bathroom ceiling, a stained shower, and a bathroom door that would not close. The extra lock on the exterior door was also broken. The refrigerator’s freezer was frozen over. It felt dirty and there were numerous broken fixtures. It was definitely not up to expectations for the cost of the room.

Decent place for a short stay, staff were friendly and accommodating.

The continental breakfast was terrible. Hot tub boarded up. Felt like cheap, basic, older decor/finishes

The pool was open. Room was not satisfactory, bathroom door wouldn't close, bathtub faucet was upside down. Toilet seat was loose sliding around. TV was mainly static. Was pubic hair in the tub. Was double charged the 100$ deposit. Pool table had no cue ball even at the desk.
