El Rancho Motel

Stayed in unit 9 Relaxing-quiet secluded & private,great location! Benefit parking right outside our room. We loved that my crew cab Tundra had a longer spot to park in. We enjoyed the beach and the shops located walking distance

Great property, at a great price. This is a nice boutique motel in a great location. You are within walking distance of many restaurants, nightlife, and activities; but just far enough away where you don't have to deal with the noise. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was not up-kept. The whole place is dated. There’s cracks and unsealed areas where bugs get in. Many mosquitos in the room. Ants crawling on the walls and in the beds. Not boutique, more like bare minimum. No staff on site, air conditioning is loud, and parking is 4 spots.

We will begin this review with, "WTH" LIKE WHAT THE HECK! We arrived late because of a flight delay. We called the phone number on the door outside the office. No one responded. We were outside for about 1 hour and minutes. Some folks outside gave us a code to get into the office to pick up our key for our room. But since we hadn't spoken with anyone, because no one was responding we didn't know what out room number was. Someone finally called us who of course was half asleep and told us to pick up key number (##). Went to the room, and brought in our suitcase and belongings. The room was small, but we new it was going to be, but when we pulled back the blankets to expose the sheets, the sheets were filled with body hair. The floor that had cheap raggedy carpet was so dirty we had to put down white towels to create our own clean carpet flooring. The ceiling fan had a deep squeak, that we had to turn it off. Once turned off it was filled with dust and dirt, so gross! The bathroom had water on the floor, smelled like dirty went laundry. The air-conditioning unit placed under the sink was loud. Since this property was located on Corando Island we assumed it would be at least tidy, clean, and that there would be staff on site. No one was ever on site. We went to the local Vons' store to buy Clorox to scurb the shower floor because it was filthy!! We bought liens for the bed to throw over the dirty liens. We had to stay in San Diego one more night, but would never stay here again

Parking was no problem and the location was super convenient for my family and I. The place itself was super clean and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway

I loved that there is no plastic in the rooms -- all reusable mugs and cups. Very cute appliances, and ceiling fan was nice. I didn't love not having someone at the desk, although texts were promptly responded to. If street noise bothers you, be sure to request a room in the back.

I only saw the staff upon check-in. He was very nice and was able to check me in early. The room was nice and I liked the location. The bed was a little hard, so if you have back issues, this may not be the choice. Overall, I would recommend a stay at El Rancho.

El Rancho was a nice, clean and convenient place to stay.

Nice little small hotel, not far from shops and beach. If you just need a place to sleep and shower, this place will do. Good value for the price.

This is a charming property and centrally located on the island. The bed was very comfortable. There were a few annoying maintenance issues and the light outside the room stays on all night. This is great for safety but light shines into the room around the blinds and can be disruptive to sleep.

The climate control system worked great. Check in was very good and easy. Parking was good enough in an area where parking is at a premium.

This was a great stay! A 10 min walk to the ferry and great views of San Diego. A quiet alternative to a standard large hotel.

This is a pretty basic hotel, essentially just a somewhat affordable place to stay for being on Coronado Island. The location is pretty centralized with many restaurants and some shopping with about a half mile in either direction on Orange Ave, which is the main strip. Parking wasn't to hard to find with free street parking on all around the hotel. The room was clean, had a small refrigerator and small microwave. Check in was not perfect as there was no attendant on site. I had to call a number and leave a message. They called me back within 10 minutes and stated that Hotels.Com didn't provide my mobile number, so they were unable to forward check in instructions. Once we made contact everything went very smoothly.

The Air conditioner works well but it was a bit noisy at night. The location is great easy in and out and close to the ferry landing. Nice place to sit out front on the property.

Rooms are clean, and come with a microwave and fridge. Parking is limited but you are on an island and we usually find a spot somewhere. Love this property and we will definitely be back!

Cute cottage style hotel on the Main Street!

Very comfortable room with a cool retro vibe. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Great central location.

It was not like any ordinary motel. Intimate, clean, and tranquil spot. Rooms were also clean (thanks so much Samuel), albeit it small but we worked with it and didn't need to request anything extra. Staff such as Kathy and Samuel were so great and helpful. We have decided to now make this motel one of our favorite places to stay at, and our goal moving forward is to make this destination a mandatory annual stay. My family, friends and I loved it. And the outdoor patios... Boy did we love that too! Can't wait until the next time. Thank you to the wonderful staff here at El Rancho Motel in the beautiful city of Coronado, CA.
