Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa/Newport Beach

We enjoyed the pool area, and found it easy to navigate the hotel. Parking was great and we generally enjoyed our stay.

This is a pet friendly hotel, in which why we stayed there. They heard my dog barking and a housekeeper turned in my room number and let them know. They heard a dark dog barking the front desk calls me to ask why I didn't fill out a dog policy. I filled out a dog policy first thing when I checked in so I don't know why they were calling me about filling out a dog policy. It's $75 extra per pet nonrefundable so I think they might be a little disorganized and not sure why the housekeeper felt that she needed to turn me in because she heard my dog barking that had me feeling some type of way. Didn't make me happy as that. I felt like they were trying to call me out on something that wasn't valid so I didn't feel comfortable staying there nor will I stay there again.

We stayed at the Ayer's hotel twice in early August while visiting family in Costa Mesa. We loved our stay! Great staff, clean room, nice restaurant with excellent menu options - we plan to stay there on our next trip to Orange County.

Very Nice Hotel. Room was great, clean and comfortable. We only stayed one day but would visit again. This hotel had a great pool area and outdoor eating area with a fountain. Very cool!

The hotel is near the airport, so noise from the planes is fairly constant.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful.

The property and staff were amazing. The restaurant on the main floor was sub par. I had some Elote fries and a veggie sandwich. The veggie sandwich was awful and I couldn’t even finish it. I had two bites I had breakfast the breakfast as well. The breakfast burrito had a weird texture, spongy, and no taste.

There was an issue with the AC unit and they took care of it the next day!

I loved the hotel with the interior courtyard. My room opened to the courtyard but it wasn’t the one I reserved on Hotel.com. When I arrived I didn’t care for the building my reservation was made. Riley was wonderful to change me to the more luxurious building and provided a gorgeous suite and location. There are two buildings so make sure you reserve in the one you want. Checking out I was disappointed the staff member could not call a cab for me since I wanted to leave earlier than the shuttle at 5:10 am. He was not helpful and stated they didn’t call other transportation. I’m 74 and not familiar with the app’s for Lyft or Uber and I didn’t have the number for a local cab.

Very charming European style hotel in the heart of Costa Mesa, CA adjacent to Newport Beach. Excellent location for easy access to Corona Del Mar Beach State Park, Newport Beach and Huntington Beach. Pillows were too soft. John Wayne International Airports flight path is directly over the hotel between 7 am - 11 pm daily.

The staff was awesome there especially the servers at the restaurant. They were also bartenders so they got busy sometimes and you have to wait for a drink. While there was a guy in a suit at the front door. I don’t know what he was doing. He could’ve helped out. room was really clean. The breakfast is really good. The bar is a little small but that’s OK. It was nice in there.

Interesting that parking is free for restaurant and meetings but $39/ night when you pay to stay there.

The bed was not made. A helicopter was circling the premises. Police was outside. We left and disputed the charges.

The location was ideal, the facilities were beautiful, the rooms were exquisitely clean, spacious and comfortable, and the rooms were quiet (other than a rowdy bunch in the parking lot at 3am). I loved that it had an EV charger too. Parking was pricey- especially having to pay more than typical for charging the electric car plus parking fees, but the room rates were low so it evened out.
