The woman at the front desk was the only staff member who made us feel genuinely welcome, and we really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. The hair dryer in the bathroom was also very disappointing. For a hotel in Newport with rates at this price point, I expected much better amenities and overall service.

Great hotel. If you plan on going to the beach, it's a little far. The pool is nice, but a little small. Gym and Bar were good.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The staff was very friendly, valet was very helpful, the pool staff is very attentive

First night the bartender was so great! But second night we went down for dinner and cocktails and service was awful 😣 The staff were more inn mm to their gossip than in customers Food and drinks are not cheap and attention is part of what you’re paying for… which this time was the worse. Hands out for the gentleman was at the bar on Wednesday night. But staff on Thursday night they need to be trained on food and beverage service

We had a wonderful stay in a junior suite. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was huge with a separate bathtub. Would definitely stay again.

Attended here for an event and stayed for the weekend and for some reason, the waiters during the event were extremely rude to our children and the elderly. We had a suite, but for some reason, the AC did not work so we had to sleep with our balcony door open to get some cool air. The only ones that were actually extremely helpful was the front desk staff. They may checking in flawless and any issues that did arise they were able to help compensate for it.

There's a cool mirror in the bathroom here at the location is great at least for our needs. The bed was also very comfortable. There's no coffee whatsoever on the weekends. Even motel 6 has a free vat of coffee filled 24/7. On the weekdays they don't have hot water or coffee until 6:30 in the morning. . The machine provided in the room is junk and just force grounds everywhere. The rooms are excessively hot, ours never got below 74° in the dead of summer. There's no fan that blows. The rooms are dated, with rust, chipped paint and splattered mop water all over the furniture. When you walk in the lobby is beautiful and nice and cool, but that's all a facade. It's extremely loud and not restful at all. I don't think I slept more than an hour at a time it was so hot in the room. For the price, you'd think that they would have a fan if you asked but no, no fans for the customers.. Parking there is excessively expensive and ridiculous. There is a shuttle but it only runs about every hour and does not have to put all for early morning flights or later arrival spirit.

like everything about it. Modern, fully staff and very interactive and high class guests

The hotel grounds are beautiful and maintained. The workout room is well appointed and clean. We would have loved a place to enjoy the World Cup in the bar area. Seating area needed to be double the size :) The pool, pool service, pool and hot tub water quality gets a fail. Hire a professional pool operator before Cal/OHSA fines you or shuts your pool area down. Marriott Bonvoy. The pool is always a big part of our hotel stays anywhere. This was sadly something we were unable to enjoy during our week long stay here. Pool Bar service/ drinks were horrible!!! No bartender! No blended drinks or fruit. Expensive! Tipped Brittany well because she had to serve, as she repeatedly had to respond to not just us, but to ALL of the hotel guests,” …unfortunately we don’t have…” seriously?? No Lemon or lime even for our beer? Epic fail! That’s just bad management Bonvoy Marriott! It was, and is, WORLD CUP SOCCER! Very disappointing they didn’t step it up /: Put a TV outside by pool area and keep up on your pool chemicals/ balance!

The renaissance was spacious and beautiful "I am disappointed that the inclusion of breakfast was not mentioned during my check-in process. Having to proactively ask for vouchers for an amenity already included in my booking is poor customer service. This information should be standardly provided to all guests at arrival."

Had an issue with the toilet not flushing properly and the shower had an issue. The hotel staff was prompt in attending the issue.

Rooms were clean and spacious, hotel had lots of amenities. Pool could have been cleaner (hair and bugs floating in it). Cabana prices were too high, especially given that service staff were only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Parking cost is outrageous, won't be returning due to the extreme level of additional fees, including WiFi! Insane to charge guests for WiFi given the price of the stay itself. It was also a pain to go back and forth between the parking lot garage and our hotel, so we only left when we needed to. Our room also didn't have a microwave which was really disappointing, and the water pressure was very poor. We checked in late on Friday night and the staff member seemed frustrated that the system deleted our booking and he had to re-key it all in. Wasn't super nice or friendly when we arrived, but other staff members were throughout the duration of our stay. There also weren't too many places within walking distance.

Great atmosphere. Lots of energy in the lobby with the World Cup lounge, restaurant. A nice gym with plenty of equipment and views of the pool. Nice pool. Rooms were clean and big with comfortable beds. Nothing. It's a great hotel!
