Excellent staff

The location was perfect for our needs. The rusticity and ambiance of the hotel was very nice. The floor was dirty throughout the unit. Our bare feet needed cleaning

The Lock on door was broken. A window above the bed would not close and there was a very loud party going on outside and could not sleep. The soles of my feet were black from walking on the linoleum floor in the room as they were filthy. The rooms are very very small and the bathroom is tiny. The staff are rude and screamed at me when I asked if they could get someone to close the window.

Charming yes. But… not a continental breakfast. Not very clean, needs updating, nice location great staff. No pool but a huge hot tub. Needs pool towels.

They left all the dirty sheets from rooms they clean in the bottom of stairs to each floor over night. Had to step over them. Looked trashy and a trip hazard Wasn’t the best experience.

Rooms are very very old. Nothing has been updated for 20 years. Can’t adjust the ac because they don’t even have a thermostat with numbers to set the temp. Very poor quality hotel. Would not stay here again.

The location and patio was nice #235 Room had a conjoined door, able to hear the next door tenants speaking and partying. Shower/tub combo felt like the 90s, shower head seemed to be from 80s. Was woken up around midnight from the neighbours partying and playing music from a speaker, got a room swap to #234 It was not an upgrade, as one would imagine even though it said "suite" . Said suite didn't have a working phone, I realised this after I tried calling the front desk for a fridge in the room. There was no fridge, so I went back to the previous room and brought it to the new room. Television was a basic led TV with no smart TV capabilities, that wouldn't stop displaying the demo/info. Dated room air controls, we would bring in the outdoor metal chairs for a meal inside the room. People were friendly but the hotel owner needs to revamp it badly. I wouldn't stay again unless there was an assurance of change/redemption.

Location is so convenient, it’s so out dated, shower curtains got mildew it’s compatible for Motel 6. Our 2nd room , sink faucet doesn’t stop though they fixed it. It’s missing blanket, we booked a dbl bed for our kids but instead given us a AIR BED for adequate price we paid although the valet /bellman/runner (3-11 shift is very attentive, we forgot his name ) But your literally at Balboa Pier our balcony got Ocean Views
