The hotel was fine. Definitely older, and the entrance/lobby doesn’t really make sense. The sliding entrance door is too small for someone who has multiple bags, and the front desk in the lobby is super far and in the opposite side of the lobby. The room was fine.

~The pool was VERY cold with some mildew on the sides on the tile, bits of trash on the bottom, and grainy residue from water treatment you could feel on the bottom. ~The elevators broke down while we were there, and about a dozen of us had to walk across the hotel to the stairwell to get to our rooms. The elevators were noisy, and it just seems like could use better periodic maintenance. ~There was a flickering light in the foyer the entire three days we were there, and it just seemed odd that nobody fixed it. Again, seems to be a low budget for maintenance personnel. ~There were no accommodations for food prep, aside from a single tiny microwave on each floor. I assume they want to encourage people to visit the (very expensive) in-house restaurant, but I would expect better food prep options from this caliber of a hotel. The in-room refrigerators are the tiny inefficient type without a compressor, and they take forever to cool anything off. There are no napkins or disposable cutlery. ~$4 for a single drink from the snack bar or vending machine is robbery. I know this is Chicago, but I'm sorry - that's excessive.

Front Desk: The hotel is severely understaffed. A single employee was forced to handle check-ins, check-outs, phone calls, emails, and baggage storage all at once. Unsurprisingly, customer service suffered; across three different interactions, staff appeared overwhelmed, with no welcome greetings, smiles, or warm hospitality—just one forced smile. Breakfast: We ate at the hotel restaurant once, and the experience was awful. The sole employee, was visibly angry and unwelcoming. Furthermore, the limited buffet offered three meat choices—all of which were pork. Not everyone eats pork for personal or dietary reasons, so despite paying full price for the buffet, we were stuck eating only scrambled eggs and potatoes. Room: While tidy, the room lacked basic attention to detail; we were greeted by leftover hair in the bathroom sink upon arrival. Property Condition: The building is extremely outdated. While the rooms themselves have been renovated, the corridors look as though they haven't been touched since the 1970s. The contrast between the modern room and the heavily worn, dark hallways makes for a stark, unappealing experience. This property falls far short of Hyatt Regency standards. Until they fix their staffing levels, improve dining options, and finish renovating the entire building, I cannot recommend staying here.

Front desk staff were so nice and helpful. I forgot my charger and he let me borrow an adaptor which he really did not have to. I really appreciated it

Rooms are clean and newly renovated but the carpets in hallways have a very distinct smell.
