Otherwise the facilities were just overall lacking. I get that it’s in a historic building and district but is it really too much trouble to have a fridge in the guest room? There was also a faint odor of burning diesel and wood throughout the building, particularly in our room. The saving grace for the Oxford is its location. Just steps away from Union Station and tons of dining and bars means there’s always something to new to explore.

The property is beautiful and historic. It feels like you’re right in the gilded age. The spa is very nice too and the clawfoot tub was lovely. It’s a great location. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating and saved the day when I booked the corner room only to find that because of the additional windows and proximity to the bars / clubs below that it was very loud. I can’t recall her name, which I regret because she was so kind and helpful, but she managed to switch me to a different, much quieter room that still had the tub for me to enjoy. If you’re a light sleeper like me, the corner rooms might want to be avoided. As a historic hotel the soundproofing is limited so it’s good to keep in mind. The only other thing I wouldn’t say I didn’t like, but was a bit disappointing for such a nice hotel is they only have a continental breakfast included. It was very tasty but there’s just something about having a full breakfast that’s special and would make it close to perfect.

Great breakfast, loved the historic feel of the building. Spa was wonderful. Short, easy walk to stadium.

Great historic hotel in downtown Denver. Super convenient to Union Station and all the attractions of LoDo.
-
Lovely period hotel. Breakfast and daily bourbon tasting were great. Hotels lobby was lovely. Staff pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately our room was a disappointment. Positives were the size of the room and bathroom and a comfortable bed. Unfortunately the rooms decor was lacking in warmth and comfort. The dresser was unusable because it had a very musty odor. The two chairs were uncomfortable, only mirror was above the sink, and the bathroom sink was ridiculously small!

Staff cut the water in the morning. Staff never informed us. Called front desk and told staff no water, they said they would send someone to the room Waited 20 minutes no one came to the room.

Everything was excellent at the Oxford for my stay, including the location to Union Station.

Beautiful, clean, convenient. The front desk and valet service were excellent Nothing

Excellent city location. Decent sized room with two queens. Bins not cleaned overnight though. Hotel was unable to provide a safe during the two days - there was no forewarning of a need to pre book one for the room. Poor checkout experience just because showed little interest in our stay or how it was. Would probably stay elsewhere next time.

The history of it. The step up to the bathroom wasn’t easy for my mother.

Really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was superb.

Great location close to the wonderful breakfast options at, surprisingly, the train station. Roomy bathroom with good shower. It's one thing to preserve ah historical property and respect its "good bones". We found the huge, dark furniture pieces oppressive and the sole bedroom window looking out onto essentially a shaft or alleyway gave the room an overall gloomy feeling. I was especially disappointed as I asked for a bright room. Mix it up! Make it fresh and welcoming. You don't have to be a slave to w/w carpeting and dark period furnishings. Use a little imagination and aesthetic options.

The Oxford hotel was exceptional in appearance, courteous staff and hospitality. We appreciated the closeness to union station, Rockies baseball park, restaurants and 16th street, ( it has a free shuttle throughout downtown area). We choose the Oxford hotel for its history and were rewarded with so much more.

Very nice older hotel. Room was large and beds very comfortable. The breakfast and coffee service in morning for free was great. If you like bourbon, they have a tasting 5-6pm. The front desk and bellman were wonderful!
