1. Coffee in the morning was good. 2. Relatievely quiet, we were not disturbed while we were in the room, and got a good night's sleep throughout the stay. 3. Around 15-20 minutes from downtown des moines. 1. The room we reserved had been given to someone else, so we had to stay in a room with a different bed configuration than the one we reserved - queen vs king. In spite of the downgrade, they insisted on charging us the same amount for the room. 2. The TV didn't work during the entirety of the stay. On the first night while we were out on the town, I called the front desk to see if they could fix it. The attendant who answered the phone offered a few potential solutions and said he would come by our room when we got back to the hotel to try to fix it. When we got back to the hotel, we talked to the person at the front desk about it to see if he could come by, but he said that none of the TVs in the hotel had worked for two weeks and there was nothing he could do... contradicting info and sounds a little fishy. All the TVs in an entire hotel don't work for weeks with no posted communication about it to the guests? Idk. 4. The hallway outside our room smelled strongly of urine throughout the stay. 5. Shower worked sporadically. You could only do very hot or very cold with no in between. Both me and the person I was staying with experienced the same thing. Maybe it was an issue with how we were using it, but we couldn't figure it out. 6. We did breakfast both days around 8am and at that time there was cereal but no milk available. The only other breakfast option was a waffle with butter.

Good

The breakfast was not very good. The waffle mix was too thin. Very few options to choose from. Very disappointing compared to the breakfast we had at a days inn in Hannibal, Missouri.

Staff very kind. Very reasonable rates. Outside needs updated. Room was fine. Breakfast very limited but ok for me.

Bad

Room was dirty and smelled dirty and moldy, when I mentioned it to staff his solution was Lysol, and he was going to have maintenance address a wet spot in the carpet but they never came. There was mold on the lampshades and even a sewing needle in one of them. There were bags of trash left by the steps for a few days, and trash and cigarette butts all over the property. While I understand the hotel can’t control what guests do, there were several guests having a little gathering in a public space and tried several times to get my underage family member to drink. The pet fee and deposit was not disclosed during booking but at check-in. For being in such a nice neighborhood this hotel was sketchy and we felt uneasy our entire stay.

Nice place

Absolutely nothing like the pictures. Run down, dirty, broken, stained sheets, stinky rooms, broken bathroom mirror, u cleaned shower, water stained cloudy shower tile, curtains broken & falling off, staff defended this is a budget hotel. We switched rooms & #2 was worse. We took pictures and reported it to hotels.com and got a refund for the 2nd night - we left.

It was a quiet night It needs a lot of work on the exterior.

The place was not clean look like somebody else was there before the bed was made but ,looked like it was slept in,they the second day they had a contractors that took out the air conditioners to clean them so I was without air for about an hour or two hours it was not what their picture looked like, their breakfast suck! No coffee,no phones in the rooms,like DON'T stay here unless you really have to!!! Period!!!

We didnt even end up staying, doors were falling apart, bugs everywhere! Horrible smells coming from the rooms, cleaning lady was hitting her vape while cleaning!

It was clean when arrived. They tv never worked. Curtain was broken. No one came to clean the room. Trash was piled up in the hallway. Elevator occasionally worked had to take stairs.

advertised as that there was an outdoor pool, there was no pool. Public areas were filthy. Breakfast items were very limited or none at all. Only really had waffles, tangerines and banana were over ripe. Full of flies.... the main door was broken, the back area was filthy, garbage piled and garbage bags in the hallways. smoke alarm beeping, tv did not work, had to have maintenance come and reprogram twice, and he took the tv remote, had to turn off on the surge protector. when we walked on the carpet our feet were wet.1 lamp in the room did not have a light bulb. Bathroom was ok. Bed linens were great.. Flies all in the lobby and food area. Check in was ok.

When I arrived and checked in the hotel did not even come close to the pictures that were online. It was so rundown that I did not feel safe as a single woman staying in this hotel. I immediately checked back out of the hotel and found someplace else to stay very very disappointed in this experience.
