The Detroit Club

The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are beautiful. The bartender and weight staff are great. The bar itself is amazing. We didn't use the cigar lounge, but it looked really cute. That being said the spa is nothing to get excited about. The guy that worked there was not friendly, there was hardly any amenities to make it worth paying for a day pass… I would skip that, but the location is good for walking. The music was nice. The parrot is fun. The bartenders are amazing and the rooms are really nice.

We absolutely loved our stay here and will be back! It was our first time and loved the historic building. Staff was amazing

Amazing hotel and history! Staff was a little underdressed for such a beautiful hotel. Reminded me of my older kids holding the fort down. Nonetheless, it’s a must stay!

Great spot, will definitely stay there the next time I’m in Detroit

Excellent stay from the time we arrived to the time we checked out. Super lovely ambiance. Would definitely book again.

Good: Beautiful exterior, bar areas etc. Clean room. Bad: We were told on arrival that there was a policy of the door being locked at 12. We explained that we were travelling from the UK and having trouble with our phone networks, so could not make calls. We were assured that someone on the desk would hear knocks and let us in. On the last night we returned to the hotel at 23.30 to find it locked early. Knocked on the door for 20 minutes before being let in by a staff member who had been "running errands". Inconvenient and all due to saving the cost of one staff member overnight despite the rates paid for the stay. Parking also extortionate, recommend using one of the multiple car parks within a block such as the Shelby Street Garage (no return)

The hotel is very historic and comfortable. We had a refrigerator in our room that we had to unplug due to how loud it buzzed. The hotel is cute but older so go here knowing that it will have so quirks. I would however, stay here again. It was close to things and quiet.

The staff was very helpful. We loved the old architecture of the building.

Late at night the fire alarm sounded and it was a good hour before peace abd quiet was restored.

And excellent team of staff Spa is garbage i paid $170.00 for a 80 minutes massage it was not good at all the cheap Chinese massage that you can find everywhere gives better massage. I’m going to stick with my Chinese! After 40 minutes of a horrible back rub the lady set and played to the bottom of my feet for the next 40 minutes Then they changed me 30% gratuity on top of that. That was never mentioned until after the appointment . $90 .00 was deposit for a spa appointment after the session they changed me $126.00 . In total I spent $216.00 for the worst massage ever and for someone to play with the bottom of my feet for 40 minutes . The hot tub was great

Interesting historical hotel, architecture is beautiful but other than the valet, few of the staff everything else was mediocre at best for a so called 5 star hotel, in my opinion not worth the value, the garbage trucks you can hear them next to our room super loud for over an hour at 4 am, some of the staff were great and some not so much especially late at night. We were there for our pre-wedding, and they would not allow photography inside (even though it was literally empty hotel) and want to charge $300+ per hour, which is definitely not worth it. the room was fairly nice. i would still not come back again over all, this is more of a 3.5 star hotel at best.

Little things like the television being unnecessarily annoying to control and the lack of any complementary water. Also, the restaurant was closed before 8 the night I got there but it was a week night. Overall nice hotel.

A very unique facility with tons of character but needs some updates. Room was gorgeous but floors were uneven in spots and the window sound insulation was poor - we could hear traffic and PeopleMover and people talking on the street all night, even though we were on the 4th floor.
