MainStay Suites Dubuque at Hwy 20

Location The room was very dirty, carpet holes with metal showing through, no tvs in any room, no living room furniture except a lamp. Dirty walls in kitchen. Should not have been rented out in that condition. Very disappointed and feel like we're owed a refund. I have taken pictures for proof of the condition of the room. Cracked tiles in the kitchen.

They only clean the room every 7 days........ They did have an EXTREME curry smell on one of the nights which was very hard to breathe Smoke alarm also went off one of the nights Had to get your own replacement towels, soap and toilet paper

Our room was filthy- weird stains on the walls and the furniture. I tried to work with the front desk on staff upon arrival and the only thing he could say is that I would have to wait until after 7 am to get this resolved. At 7 am, the new person at the desk informed me that the property manager is the only person that could help us but the property manager is only available Tuesday through Friday at 11. We ended up checking out early because the staff was unhelpful, the hotel was sold out and our room was not getting cleaned. I attempted call the property manager multiple times and request a call back. It has been 1 week since we checked out and he has still not returned my call. I would like a refund and customer service says I need to work with the absent property manager. This place was a dump. 0/10 - will never stay at a mainstay again.

Good stay overall thankss

The first room they put us in the toilet didn't flush and kept running. We switched rooms and it was just ok. Found a few ants crawling on the bathroom floor, overall smell of the hallways was from a variety of foods being cooked and when I went to the desk to ask for extra blankets., the guy who also checked us in was on his phone the entire time. Not friendly at all

Friendly staff and pretty clean. Rooms were well air conditioned and neat. Decent hotel for the price. My only complaint was that the elevator smelled like urine.

Front desk was gracious to change date of my reservation. The building was very deteriorated on outside, entry door windows filthy, lobby and eating area were clean. Did have breakfast area but did not partake. Walking into room it smelled extremely strong like moth balls. The bathroom shower had been sealed but had mold, sitting in chair looked up at ceiling and it was black which appeared to be mold. The drawer had the person before paraphernalia they left. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked. Pool was filthy murky water. Did not partake. Overall I would think Choice Hotels needs to assess what has their name. Needs significant maintenance inside and out.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far the worst one I have stayed in. The room had what we believe were spit balls all over the upper walls. There were cobwebs and the curtains were falling down off-the- rods. The bathroom wasn't bad. Tub was clean. I would fire the cleaning staff. Never did see a maid and we had to ask the front desk 4 times for enough towels. We went down to breakfast an over an hour before it was over and nothing had been replenished. The fruit bowl was empty. One of the workers was walking around eating a banana though. Very badly managed.
