The property is in a good location, just a block or two from the bottom of the incline. We had a wonderful stay. Robert, the owner, made us feel especially welcome, and his breakfast was delicious. If you’re looking for a memorable experience with more personality than a standard hotel, this is it. A glass of wine on arrival would have been a lovely finishing touch!

I loved learning the history of the mansion. The host and his wife were quite gracious and breakfast was delicious. The building shows it's age here and there but is still a beauty.

Robert was attentive to our small group. Both Robert and his wife are very nice and friendly. It’s an old place so it’s not perfect but it was all we needed. Would recommend staying.

Location was good. House was pretty but in dire need of repairs. Very dated and so many fans and portable a/c units has to be a fire hazard.

Beautiful, historic inn in a perfect location. Amazing hot breakfast with fresh fruit and pastries. Robert was knowledgeable and kind. He thought of everything. Room was so clean. Smooth check in and check out. Two blocks from cog train for fun ride up the cliff. Walking distance to large farmers market. Nothing!

You have to pay for parking (that was not clear to me - Dubuque has meters everywhere). The room was in need of some care - the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the pillows were ancient. The mattress was also quite old and was curving into the middle of the bed. Also didn't realize breakfast was only offered between 8am-8:30am.

Very walkable area! Also, staying in a historical building is always a treat. We really enjoyed the character of the Victorian building. Beautiful Victorian mansion. The friendly owner greeted us and carried our luggage up the stairs to our room. Areas needed repair after obvious water damage from roof and other small things like wear from age that should be addressed. Expense of maintenance is probably the reason the property is for sale

The inn keeper was the kindest human being! He was so friendly and super helpful. He carried our luggages up the stairs when we arrived. He also carried them to the car when we checked out. There is a free breakfast bar and he so kind to serve us food, he literally brought us food on a plate. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The ambiance was delightful. We highly recommend staying here and will be back!
