Canal Park Lodge

The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was very good. We had a balcony overlooking the beautiful Lake Superior and we loved the view.

Great place to stay! I would highly recommend it.

However the pool was quite conjested. A group of six teen boys came two days and used the pool who didn’t seem to be staying at the hotel. There were family groups filling the pool with large floats. The pool was closed today for maintenance. Our hallway on the first floor had chairs stacked against the wall.

Very expensive, but probably worth it. Hard to beat a very central location right one the lake front.

Clean, quiet, well kept

My only complaint is not being able to open the upper windows in the room to hear the waves. Apparently the window cranks have all been removed and that was very disappointing.

I have stayed at this facility several times. This time It did not live up to my expectations. Especially the breakfast. In the past, they had someone serving up your food. They offered waffles, pancakes, and a variety of other things. This time, I was told that the Pancake machine was broken. The Waffle machine they had not been delivered the batter, there was no one serving up breakfast and I did not feel that it was up to the standard that I had expected from prior visits. I feel disappointed as this particular facility has always been above my expectations and this time it fell below.

The other issue is that, for us, the bed was not comfortable. You could feel the crossbar through the mattress. Bottom line, the staff, and the ambiance erased any of the issues, and we will likely book again the next time we go to Duluth.

The staff were SO friendly! Treated us like family and with respect and were competent at their jobs. Couldn't ask for better service.

We have stayed at Canal Park Lodge 4 times over the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. Always a very positive experience.

We had a great night here as a family! Our room was a lake view with a balcony, and we loved that! The beds were comfy, the breakfast was very good, and we would definitely stay here again!
