Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Duluth North, MN

We arrived on June 28th and had booked early (some time in April) since we needed a room for 9 nights. We booked this place because it had a water slide. When we arrived we found out the water slide wasn’t working and the only folks who could get a discount were those who booked after May 13th when it stopped working. Huh? We asked once during our stay for the room to be cleaned and it was never cleaned. We had to go and get toilet paper, Kleenex and clean towels from the front desk. We emptied our own trash even on the day we asked for the room to be cleaned. The free breakfast is mediocre at best and the coffee is like hot water so we started going to Casa Latte up the street and Kwik Stop since we couldn’t stand it and only ate the breakfast twice. Very poor customer service. We left our phone number for the general manager to call us about the room discount and they completely ignored our request. We won’t ever be staying here again. We will try Holiday Inn and Express nex time.

For our 5 night stay we received NO housekeeping at all, even after specifically requesting housekeeping 3 days in a row. On the 3rd request they asked if our do not disturb sign was out and at no point during our stay did we put out the do not disturb sign. On our 3rd day we ran out of body wash and when I requested body wash at the front desk, we were told to use the shampoo because they didn’t have any body wash to provide. Shampoo and body wash are not interchangeable. If there is no housekeeping (supposed to happen at least every 3 days according to the front desk, however listed as daily on Expedia) please provide more than one towel hook. I appreciate trying to be green but allow the guests to reasonably reuse towels. Additionally, I question the quality of the vacuums they use, not only were there hairs everywhere, we found a red pill on the ground and sunflower seed shells as well. Maybe they don’t vacuum in between guests. Finally, the slide that is prominent on both Expedia and this hotel’s website pictures was inoperable for the whole stay. A sign on the front desk says it will be closed from May through September 1st and that their website and related websites were updated with this information. On inspection, Expedia only mentioned that one pool was closed, no information on the slide other than in reviews. Remove the picture if it is not available.

This is a really clean place to stay with nice pillows. Slept great. Will stay here again

Staff at front dest was friendly, clean room

Clean hotel with a good breakfast and friendly staff. Our room was freshly remodeled and the beds were comfortable.

The breakfast was okay. We booked this hotel for the slide and kiddie pool for our 4 year old. When we arrived we were informed that the pool was not fully operational, the kiddy pool, slide and hot tub were out of order. I asked if this would be fixed during our stay and was informed that its a months long issue. I asked if we should have been informed about it because it was not listed anywhere when I booked my stay on March 30th. The front desk staff advised the pool issue began on May 13th, and i was told that because I booked through booking.com, I would not have been made aware of the non working pool. Also I was informed my rate could not be changed and there was nothing they could offer due to booking through a 3rd party. I was told that a a manager would contact me but my only contact was with front desk staff. At the end of the stay they placed a sign at the front desk informing of the issue and that the rates had been lowered for guests due to this issue but only for people who booked after May 13th. Definitely feels like they dont like 3rd party booking, and I feel like it makes it hard to put the guests as the middle person in the matter.

We were a little disappointed that the hot tub and water slide weren’t working and they were doing some light construction that left trash just kind of laying around by the ice machine but staff was excellent.

They put us in a section of the hotel that is being actively renovated, like all the way into the night. The man installing new carpet brought his children and they were blasting music and running up and down the halls. It looked like they were staying in one of the torn up rooms and working all day and night. It was strange. No warning or notice. The guy and his family must use the rooms in that hallway he is installing carpet in to use the bathroom because the toilet was clearly used and the sink wasn’t cleaned.

The hot tub and water slide were out of order.

I stayed at this property while participating in Grandma's marathon. It is a short distance from the Miller Hill Mall shuttle pickup for the race which was very convenient. They also provided a targeted early breakfast on race day for the runners to enjoy which was HIGHLY appreciated. I will be considering staying here again for next year's race.

Unfortunately the pool and water park was closed for repairs/renovations.

Overall is good

Room was clean. Staff was excellent and very helpful. The only down side was hotel was being renovated and the hot tub was not working, but it still was great place to stay.

The hotel needs updating.

I almost paid $600 for this room. I know it was Grandma’s Marathon weekend. But for that money I was very disappointed. The website shows pictures of a water slide, hot tub etc. the pool (?) was the only thing available. My grandchildren were very disappointed. And an 11am checkout? I got there at 6 pm and had to checkout at 11am? For almost $600? Totally unacceptable.

We just needed a quiet place to sleep for 2 nites. Would be nice to have some Raisin Bran for breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay at Country Inn & Suites. Our room was large and clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. The manager was super friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay here again while in the area.
