Force on 5th Avenue Hotel

On the second day of my stay, I discovered that the oven in my room was not working. I contacted the front desk, and maintenance responded promptly and was able to get it working, which I appreciated. I requested housekeeping service for Wednesday. Unfortunately, when housekeeping came, they only changed the towels and did not clean the room or complete the other expected housekeeping tasks. I later spoke with the housekeeping manager, who apologized, provided the towels that were missing, and explained that she had recently hired a 17-year-old employee and was trying to give him an opportunity. While I appreciated her honesty and willingness to address the issue, I still expected the room to be cleaned as requested. On Friday, I had to leave my room specifically so housekeeping could come in and complete the cleaning that should have been done earlier. I also noticed that several of the front desk agents appeared to be very young and, at times, lacked the customer service skills and professionalism I would expect. A little more training in customer service would go a long way toward improving the guest experience. While I appreciated the responsiveness of the maintenance staff and the housekeeping manager's efforts to resolve my concerns, I believe the hotel could benefit from better housekeeping consistency and additional customer service training for front desk staff.

My king size bed was broken. I had to ask for the cleaning staff to come in and re-clean the room because it was dirty. The stove was dirty. The floors were dirty.

Clean rooms, nice view and close to a lot of restaurants and attractions.

They were good and accommodating.. we had to wait 30 minutes for our room and I did not think it was a big deal and they gave us a discount and free parking. I thought it was not necessary but they have high standards for their guests and I felt that was incredible! If all places were like that!! Good customer service!!!! They will take care of you!

Having the fridge and couch area were exactly what we needed for our stay of 5 people. A little dusting was needed in the rooms. When the light hit right you could see the dust settled, but wasn’t a deal breaker for us. The hotel was very clean.

I like the fact that the place is clean and roomy. Plus, it's surrounded by lots of scenic views.

Maybe some plumbing issues. The master shower head had a leak and probably took away from the showers pressure. The master sink was as clogged Loved all the windows facing the Lake. Front desk was extremely helpful!

Great balance of location vs price, when you compare it to the more pricey hotels in Canal Park. Really nice to have a full fridge, a stove, and dishwasher. Not exactly an AirBnB, though, as for any real cooking you would have to bring in absolutely everything that normal AirBnBs might already have (such as bottles of oil and other things that you only need a little of). Overall great place to stay. One example of how it could be more thoughtful was that in the shower there is absolutely no place to put your washcloth to rest so that you can use it again--no shelf or hook. Other than that, a really nice, new, clean place to rest with nice, firm beds. Oh, and be prepared to park off site and pay for it. Otherwise, no complaints.

Excellent accommodations. Room was great. Access was great! Maybe not “3-min walk” from canal park (depending on where you star), but very easy walk and beautiful location! Staff was very friendly!

Our stay was excellent. Our room was in great shape, very spacious, and comfortable. The hotel location was perfect for what we had planned and would be conveniently located for anything in that area. Hotel was also very clean and the staff was very helpful. Would revisit and recommend.

The Room was amazing!! Had everything you could ask for. The view was great and bed was comfortable. Great location for walking along Lake Superior and plenty of good food options. Bring what you need for after the sun goes down however because no real options for anything near by. No vending or markets close.

Just wish parking was more convenient. Otherwise, great stay.
