Everything is unique about this experience. From the bar/lounge restaurant to the multiple art installations through the interesting nooks and crannies of the awesome old dart deco building. My second time there and I got a corner room that was incredible. Can’t wait for a reason to return.

This hotel is a very cool vibe. I would most defiantly stay at this location again. Very close to a lot of amenities. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of their jobs. The only problem I had was the air in the room. Other than that we had a wonderful experience.

Very unique. The gentleman working in reception was not very friendly when we noticed we were booked for 2 rooms. It was later resolved, but his cocky demeanor left us very disappointed.

We were left to figure out the Nespsesso coffee maker in our room.

When I went to check in I went up to the second floor. I think you're supposed to and it doesn't give you very clear directions on where check-in is at. So when I turn the corner I ask the gentleman that was sitting behind the wall. Hey can you tell me we're checking is and he was like here with such an attitude. He spoke so quickly through the spiel that I had no idea what he had even said. The room was comfortable. It was very clean besides the mirror. You could tell that somebody had sprayed the mirror but didn't wipe it off and there was a minor break in the mirror(for the nightly price I expect the mirror not to be broken or dirty which is why I'm giving it four stars) The bed was extremely comfortable. So were the pillows. The artwork in the hotel is nice. There's a lot of stuff within walking distance. Most definitely have to Loaf for breakfast needs because they have the best chocolate stuffed croissants.(2 minute walk from the hotel) I would recommend and stay here again.

Tip park your own car in the parking garage to save money. I opened up the shades from the two big windows and a 5' metal canopy part fell and hit my head. Not great first impression. I was surprised the king suite was smaller then expected. The fridge is very tiny & no freezer. The bed is on a very short platform. Didn't like that at all. Mattress and bedding was comfortable. The shower was strong. But the bathroom had zero A/C and was hot. They did have robes in the room which was a high class touch. I wanted the room service breakfast package but thru Expedia it didn't give the option & the check in desk didn't let me add it. We made a reservation at the restaurant in the hotel and it was ok. It was practically empty and yet they sat us at a teeny tiny table in front of the kitchen. Small menu big price tag. 5 chicken wings $15 they were good but not that good. We walked to DPAC to see the play just a short walk. Not sure we will rebook next play night.

This is the only hotel in Durham where I'll ever stay. The staff are hospitable and down to earth. Rooms are clean and the location is perfect.

I loved Chef Melanie’s new summer menu, the “brekky” biscuit, the French toast, the shakshuka, and the yogurt bowl! I was impressed with the local fruit used in the breakfasts. Tassia explained how it really is farm to table in this restaurant and also arranged something special for me. Sarah was extra diligent on my first morning. Tommy was a knowledgable and entertaining server. He explained the art in the restaurant. Guess which one is made out of Lego-you will be surprised! Matthew at the front desk was gracious and welcoming and in my chat with Devon at the front door we discussed the new professional women’s softball game which I attended. My room was spacious, with a 180 degree view of downtown. Especially for the thunderstorm! The art in the museum gallery was stunning, heartbreaking and surprising. New takes on sustainability, labor history, and which artists we choose to elevate. My room smelled fresh and the lighting artfully divided the room into zones. Housekeeping was responsive. Great use of a renovated bank building. Having a custom blend coffee is cool, but maybe add a darker roast option for visiting Seattle coffee nerds?

The location was good and convenient to restaurants and downtown. The room and facilities were very clean. Staff was friendly. The art gallery on site was a wonderful, unexpected feature that we really enjoyed visiting during our stay. Breakfast was not included. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom/shower.
