it cost more to have a terrible room by the air conditioning compressors. the toilet leaked. the parking is pay to park in a dirty scary high rise lot across from hotel and down the block. front desk staff was not attentive. the porter was a WONDERFUL person and seemed to do all the work. we didn't like the decor. the denim bedspreads were strange.

The staff was wonderful from check in to check out. The room was spacious. We enjoyed the rooftop bar with its pretty view and plentiful seating.

Great value

Amazing hotel with great staff. Had an a/c issue when returning to our room at night, we were moved immediately to a bigger room and given breakfast vouchers for the next day. Staff was so helpful, cafe was great, and the rooftop bar/restaurant was a highlight! I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect and Durham Hotel will be my first choice next time we're in town. Thanks to all for making it a great stay!

Contemporary hotel in nice area. The public parking garage across the street was very convenient and free on weekends. Fun restaurants and bars in walking distance.

I really don’t know how in the world this place is 4 stars, but it felt like I was sleeping at a roadside motel. I will say the roof was nice, the drinks were good, but the rooms were terrible! my sink was leaking water all over the place and staff did NOTHING about it even after I called. There was absolutely no style to any of the rooms. And the staff was incredibly rude, even when I asked the man or women about cream from my coffee , they rolled their eyes and then barely made the effort to accommodate that simple request. This place is trash

The property has an excellent location. Lobby has an absolutely unique vibe, great background music for hanging out or even light work. Breakfast was good and available for room service. Rooftop a plus. King corner room was great.

Nice clean hotel. Food (breakfast) was barely ok. No onsight valet or parking

Hotel is in a good location, but nothing special. Directions to hotel not great. No parking, so need to park in sketchy lot down the street. Rooms are just ok. We stayed here as close to a concert venue. I think cost in the upper $200’s, which is too much for this hotel. Breakfast was pretty good. Will i stay here again? Probably not. Quality of rooms, parking, cost.

This is a decent hotel for its location, but I think they need to update the rooms. The space near the lobby is nice, but it’s a little confusing… Is it a lobby, is it a coffee shop, is it a bar?
-
Great place, but a special shout-out to their coffee program. Fresh ground beans at your door when you wake up? Yes. Next level.
-
Attentive and helpful staff. Very nice boutique hotel.

The rooftop bar was nice but only opens in the evening. The main restaurant wasn’t anything special, the atmosphere was not what you would expect from the photos on their website and it felt more like a local diner. The service at the coffee bar was subpar. The front desk staff was fine but didn’t seem very professional. The bell staff didn’t bother to offer help with my luggage nor open the door for me when I arrived. The room had a nice view but overall outdated and lacked what you’d normally expect such as a smart TV. The daily fresh ground coffee to your room was nice but the add-ins and condiments like sugar, sweetener, milk, etc. were limited. Overall I was disappointed as I expected a lot more from the reviews.

Great hotel, perfect location, close to the farmer’s market, downtown Durham, easy 20 min drive from the airport. Quiet, clean rooms. Excellent front desk person who went above and beyond to make sure to make us feel welcome. Free covered public parking during the week-end days. Not the first time we stay there and it will not be the last one! Thanks!

This hotel promised so much and delivered so little. Staff were indifferent at best
