The hotel is in a great location. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were able to enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar and that was very nice. My only complain is with regard to the noise level on Chapel Hill Street until 2am. While it is out of the hotel's control, they should consider providing earplugs and noise machines to guests whose rooms are facing the street. We have stayed in similarly situated rooms at other hotels and those were appreciated amenities. We will certainly consider staying there again but plan better next time.

The hotel was nice, the check in was OK. It was unclear that in order to get coffee or tea you had to preorder it the night before and hang a tag on your door. When we checked in we were told coffee was in the lobby (which there was but nothing else). ALso to get ice you have to call the desk and have them bring it to you. Parking was expensive ($25/day) in a municipal lot. The best part was the rooftop bar and our bartender Sam was excellent! highly recommend!

The hotel is well-situated, walking distance to many amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and provided all essential needs.

We were super grateful to be able to check in early to get ready for our daughter’s white coat ceremony. Beyond that, everyone was very nice and professional as well. We will be back!

Great location, lovely staff, awesome shower, fun and quirky (in a good way) amenities. Stay here every year!

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable. A few things were falling apart: sink drain, bedside lamp knob. Overall had a great stay.

Hotel was clean but out dated. Denim comforter, old gold curtains, blue carpeting. Not what I expected for the price. Coffee want great. Didn’t get the VIP treatment that was promised or the 2 complimentary cocktails. Was disappointed sadly.

Great hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown within walking distance of many sites. Well maintained older property with spacious room & bathroom, and excellent amenities such as daily fresh ground coffee, slippers, etc. Would stay here again

Excellent location in the downtown area. Enjoyed the Coffee Bar inside the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Love that check-out was at noon. Only thing I didn’t like was having to park in the garage down the road from the hotel and walk in 100 degree weather with luggage in tow. No parking option in front of hotel to unload.

Outstanding service! Comfortable room with great water pressure and temperature! Delicious food and coffee! I booked this for spontaneous date night with my husband and it was beyond expectations. The oysters were so fresh! Al strong and band playing to best jazz! Amazing views of downtown Durham and the summer sunset We will definitely be back, highly recommend!!!!

Great place to stay. Really liked being close to DPAC

Cool vibe and architecture. Beautiful view from bedroom. Great location. However… Shower took forever to heat up. No bedside table on one side, so had to turn trash can upside down as makeshift side table. Plugged phone in overnight to charge, only to discover in the morning that the outlet didn’t work. Shower leaked a small lake onto bathroom floor. Rooftop bar with beautiful views, but forgettable (hopefully) cocktails.

Great location, friendly staff.
-
it cost more to have a terrible room by the air conditioning compressors. the toilet leaked. the parking is pay to park in a dirty scary high rise lot across from hotel and down the block. front desk staff was not attentive. the porter was a WONDERFUL person and seemed to do all the work. we didn't like the decor. the denim bedspreads were strange.

Amazing hotel with great staff. Had an a/c issue when returning to our room at night, we were moved immediately to a bigger room and given breakfast vouchers for the next day. Staff was so helpful, cafe was great, and the rooftop bar/restaurant was a highlight! I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect and Durham Hotel will be my first choice next time we're in town. Thanks to all for making it a great stay!

Contemporary hotel in nice area. The public parking garage across the street was very convenient and free on weekends. Fun restaurants and bars in walking distance.
