Elgin Inn

Hot breakfast is a joke as only 1 small heated bowl to heat the frozen items. And there was no waffle as well

They are currently painting the outside of the building and they have a temporay sign and parking area area is not mowed and looks run down. We did not stay as there were homeless people hanging out in the parking lot and with the noise and smell of paint and over all disrepair, I couldn't stay there. They have not refunded me yet either which just shows the bad customer service.

The hotel was okay but for almost $300 a night I expected better. The cabinet doors on the dresser that the TV sat on wouldn’t close. 1 popped out about 4 inches so I had to be careful not to walk into it. The Staff were friendly.

Check out by talking to someone in the morning was difficult due to a low staff count, but the hotel allowed you to check out by just leaving your key in a box. Bus stop right next to the hotel allowed you to take a bus and then the train to get back to Chicago easily.

One entrance to the hotel. Other room entry/ exits were not accessible. My reservation was for a king size bed. I was given a room with 1 double bed only. A/C was not adjustable. Terrible! Staff was friendly.

This inn was amazing! Super friendly staff, always being cleaned, breakfast and coffee constantly restocked and cleaned up. When I come back to Illinois this will be the place that we stay for sure.

Rooms looked modern and new. Easy parking. Price was great!

It stated a pool and hot tub as amenities but did not have either

Didnt have a remote, employee tried barging in while I was not decent, if I had not put the chain lock he would have came in. Also the outside entrance close to my room didnt work. Did not smell pleasant.

Room was nice size and clean People next door extra loud and let kids run up and down hallway. Had to go to the front desk. And the people above me was loud and sounded like they would come through the ceiling.

I was surprised how nice the room was for the at a fair price. However, i did not think that the property maintenance (landscaping) was up acceptable. The shrubs were over grown, the lawn edging was not done at all, and the trees had not been pruned at all. This place is a diamond in the rough if only those items received some tending to. Otherwise, this is where I will come back to on my next stay.

My son and I flew in from NY with a LONG period of nothing to do until our events at the NOW Arena, which has a bag policy so we wouldn’t have been allowed to take ours with us to the event. I explained this to the staff at the hotel and for a small fee they allowed us to do a super early check in AND allowed us to have breakfast there. Very accommodating. Highly recommend!
