Rodeway Inn Escondido Downtown

It’s tucked away and hidden, and I liked that the rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were great. Staff was very kind. I enjoyed the stay.

It was a comfortabe stay the staff was freidly and helpful had people hanging out in parking lot most the night but didnt cause no trouble nothing

My purse was stolen as soon as I got into town stopped for food that was I was not allowed to check in because my wallet that was stolen had my ID I had a picture of my ID front and back on my phone and they would not let me check in even though the room was already paid for I had to sleep in my car in a parking lot is a single female traveling on her own it was very scary then both the hotel and Expedia refused a refund

The AC took forever to cool the place down there was no pool in parking very inadequate. We had to park on the street.

Upon entry the room was dirty there where holes in the blanket and there was remains of feces In the toilet and the shower was dirty as well and although that is reason enough to leave a bad review we also had a very unsettling run in with a staff member (Indian woman) we accidentally lost track of time and went passed our check out time once we realized we began getting dressed packing etc. the woman knocked on the door to let us know we were passed check out we stated loudly and clearly “one minute please” because we were still dressing, not even 2 minutes later she busted open the door and said “it’s rude not to answer the door, you are passed check out time and you need to leave now or we will call the police “ which I thought was insane due to the fact that they take a deposit and could just keep the deposit but why threaten to call the cops when we were not refusing to leave and we were clearly packing also invading our privacy by opening the door without consent thank god we had clothes on or it would have been a completely different problem, I say all this to say please save your money and never room here they are extremely unprofessional. We also always tend to leave a 15$ or more tip for housekeeping but this time I REFUSED due to obvious reasons.

The beds were uncomfortable.. the ac did not work in one room, and the other was so loud I couldn’t sleep. The television did not work and would turn black.. and I had to have it loud to compete with the ac unit. And the room was nearly $800 for two nights because I was in town the same time as comic con.. which I had no idea..

I had to call the police within 5 minutes of getting my room key, due to domestic violence in the next room over. When I turned on the air conditioning, the unit smelled like urine.

Passable

Location for what we were there for was good. Room was not finished. Looked like they were trying to remodel. Looked like they were using kids to do the work. Wife and I both almost fell in the shower that was handicap accessible. No grab bars. Walls were not finished being painted. Too many issues to list them all.
