The lady at the check in desk was outstanding and knowledgeable. The tours were great. The steam room was inop. The gym should have been more accessible. We cannot wait until 8am to exercise all the time with our busy itineraries. Beautiful overall.

The staff was super helpful and the history was awesome

We had stayed at the Stanley Hotel about 15 years ago, and while it was an older property, it was charming. The staff and its customer service played a large part in this charm. In the past year, the Stanley has changed hands, and it has lost its charm. The new owners have embraced "spectacle," which certainly will draw some customers. But the customer service we received was less-than-stellar. Additionally, while the hotel is undergoing renovations, the parking and other logistics are inconvenient at best, even dangerous. I "fixed" parking "ramps" so that other guests would not experience the trouble I had seen others enduring to get in and out of overflow parking. The air conditioning/heating unit in the room was incredibly loud. We had much better customer service in much less expensive hotels on our trip. The value we received during our stay was quite poor - and not worth it.

2. We were in the lodge, with a broken elevator but we were never informed. Lack of communication 3. No communication in part of staff. We asked about the wellness center, they told us about the 10 min walk to get there. Upon arrival we were informed it’s a 25$ fee to get in. As we walked outside, two elderly ladies told us the same thing, they were never informed 4. The lodge is a joke, no employees there at all. It’s like the forgotten piece of the property 5. Wellness center spent about 75$ on cocktails and sat on the deck. As we walked in to sit for lunch we were told no outside diet cokes although they were from their property

Clean room nice stay but construction all around hotel June 2026

In summary not recommended.

I should have asked if there was a wedding taking place the night I reserved. We were in a remodeled room on the second floor in the lodge and the band was so loud and it was like a thumping banging every 3 seconds (drum beat). This went on until after 10:30 at night and we had to be up for a 5:00 AM RMNP reservation. Then around 11 PM the people upstairs you could hear every time they walked across their room and they were loud. I was unable to fall asleep until midnight and I was in bed at 9:00 PM. It was terrible and we will never stay at this hotel again. We also had dinner at their Cascades restaurant and the food was bland. We would not eat there again either. There is also no place to park because the parking lot was full. We had to park on a side street. Good luck if you decide to stay here. Way too crowded and no way to escape the noise.

We stayed at The Stanley three years ago in the main hotel and had a wonderful five star stay. This week, we booked two nights in The Lodge building (last minute so not our first choice of building) and our stay was much different. First, there is construction everywhere you look. But most importantly, we were made very aware that the customers staying in the hotel are not the priority of this property. Parking is a nightmare and there is no dedicated parking for just hotel customers. Tour groups and private events take up all the parking all day. Also, the Lodge building is a loud factory of private events that came and went all weekend. These events were LOUD and an employee shushed my daughter and I while we were walking the few feet from the elevator to the front door to leave to eat. We paid $400 a night and can't even talk in a normal voice in the lobby?? There was a wedding party on our last night there and they partied downstairs LOUDLY AND ROWDY until very late. The music and shouts were so loud that we could hear them over our white noise machine two floors up. So paying guests can't talk a few words in the lobby but a wedding group can keep the entire hotel awake all night? Overall, I love the Stanley for the historic beauty, but it's obvious the new owners prioritize private events (we saw two weddings in one weekend) and tour groups over hotel guests. Don't stay in The Lodge unless you want to be second class to the private events and overbearing employees.

The hotel was beautiful and historic. However, nobody told us that there was no central air conditioning nor that there was construction going on at the hotel when I booked our room. The television turned on and sound came out but the picture didn't come on. We were woke up before 8 am by a jackhammer that was consistent until we checked out at 11 am. I would never have booked this hotel, nor paid that much. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel and our trip to Estes Park.

Ghost tour was a joke!

Needs remodeling and upgrades

A lot of the value was lost as check in when we found out we were being placed in a sort of "overflow" building that was at the outer edge of the property, before the guard station. The room we were in was incredibly small and plain. Employees were super friendly and the property is beautiful and well maintained.

We didn’t get to stay in the Stanley proper but stayed at Aspire which ended up being ok because that’s where the pool and hot tub were located and my kids loved that. Rooms were very clean and amenities were satisfactory. Didn’t catch any ghost sightings but I imagine everyone walking up and down the hall right near your room if you’re staying right in the hotel would be annoying after a while or even just screw up if you thought you heard a real ghost or just people looking around. Anyways very cool property with such rich history and cool vibe. The bars looked very fun and the food looked good. Will try to eat and stay right in the Stanley next time though. Just be sure to ask that before booking.

Front desk was very helpful with checking in and we needed an extra blanket. Was delivered to the room. Great

It was cool! We had a ton of experiences with taps, whispers and other things. Hotel is super cool inside and clean and obviously it’s beautiful all around the hotel. All the construction does suck but it’s alright

The front office lady was extremely helpful.

Your opinion of this hotel will depend upon your expectation. If you want a 5 star hotel equal to the best Hyatt Regency you will be greatly disappointed, especially for the price. If you are looking for an iconic hotel with lots of history and character you will be very pleased. I would recomend booking the two bed rooms because they are much bigger.

Such a great place to visit. The only drawback was the portable AC in the room. Otherwise we were very happy with the accommodations and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys staying in vintage hotels.

It has been on my bucket list to visit and stay at The Stanley! My husband and I both spent the last day of our honeymoon here and it was the perfect end to our trip. Hotel was well maintained.

The property and staff was great.
