Super 8 by Wyndham Evanston

We go to Evanston every year for the downs but our regular hotel has closed so we chose the super 8. Pics looked nice. It was not. Property has trash all over, no dumpster or garbage can to be found. Our door appears to have been kicked in more than once. I had to use my shoulder to open and close it. Toilet wouldn’t flush without holding the handle a long time. Room was not clean. Cigarette burns on bedspread and around the room even being a non smoking room. It reeked of weed. Will definitely be staying across the street next time.

AC kept the room quite cool. Looks as if the room is waiting for some renovation, but it was rather tidy.

The bedspread had a hole burned in it. It was supposed to be a non smoking room, clearly it was not. The grout in the bathroom was black with dirt. Hand not been scrubbed in months. Trash was in the parking lot. I have stayed at this location before. I believe 4 years ago. It was nice then. I unfortunately, will not be staying at this location again.

Parking my truck and trailer was not a problem. The owner gave me an easy in and out spot. Room was clean and comfortable

Motel is in a high crime area I would not stay there again.

Air-conditioning unit didn't work when I arrived and had to help the maintenance guy fix it room was not clean

We had no a/c for the few days we stayed there,the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke,the breakfast they offerer was old fruit and mini rice crispy bars,there was old food in the fridge that we took care of it, poor parking. And when we checked out the lady said when I told her the a/c didn't work it frozen she just said it must of been running to long, didn't offer a discount

What breakfast? We weren't offered as much as a cup of coffee. The desk clerk attitude when we were checking out was horrible. She left the front desk and went to her back room to avoid taking to us and one of the other staff members told us were were being charged a large amount for damages to the room we were assigned. Our puppy was registered when we checked in, but then used as an excuse to charge us for having a dog. I believe the charge was $100. Our pup was quiet and in her portable kennel at all times.

The rooms below were making noise all night outside untill 3am and nothing was done by the resort so I got no sleep The bathroom shower was dirty.

Bugs

Room was decent. Not really the best, but at least it was fairly clean. Front desk clerk was friendly. The listing on Expedia said that there would be at least a continental breakfast. There was no breakfast at all, not even any coffee. Parking was decent. Area is not too bad. It's a value place so you get what you pay for. In the end, it was a place that was good for a rest after a long day of driving.

I have stayed at many Super 8s and always felt they were a decent hotel. Certainly adequate for an overnight stay where all I needed was a place to sleep. This place did not meet that criteria and I would never recommend that anyone stay here. I think Wyndham needs to either totally renovate this property or condemn it.

The room really needed an upgrading as far as a paint job and new flooring. Everything else was very good. The room was clean and spacious.

It's an older motel so it needs updated ( rustic) Our stay was good there was a hole in the bathroom wall and could of been cleaner on the tile at the bottom by floor and door at bottom was fringed , the main room floor was good but needed redone but the beds were very comfortable and the shower was hot. For a quick over night stay it suited us for our needs. Front desk clerk was very nice to us. We understood we were not booking the the Hilton.

All was great. But I couldn't get 1st floor and was difficult to get to 2nd floor due to back issues and couldn't cancel, since I couldn't get my money back I have to go 2nd floor. I was tired and back issues. Was difficult

It met our need of needing a place to sleep for a few hours at a reasonable price, and the check-in process was fast and simple. The room was in better shape than we expected based on the hotel's exterior appearance and the location was convenient. However, the walls were so thin we could hear phone conversations from the adjacent room and the overall cleanliness left something to be desired. My feet actually became dirty after walking around the room that night and the following morning.

Old, floor in bad shape, smoke detector missing with wires hanging from ceiling, missing lightbulbs. Outside poorly maintained also.
