Place is a mess under renovations
-
The building was under renovation, so it was a bit of a mess, but it needs the renovation…the lobby is cozy and fine, but the hallways are so dark, I felt like I was in a horror movie. The sink in my room wouldn’t drain and there was body hair all over the bathroom floor, like someone manscaped and the staff didn’t sweep or mop the bathroom, which made me wonder what else they didn’t clean? It was only a one night stay, so I didn’t request anything special. I also booked on Expedia and the site said the hotel had a pool and hot tub. I was looking forward to that after a long day of travel. I got all ready to go to the pool, got to the pool door and there was a simple paper sign on the door that said the pool was permanently closed, sorry. Needless to say iy wasn’t my favorite Marriott stay I’ve ever had.

We were not informed the property was going to be under construction. There was construction noise early in th e moring.
-
Nothing. Nothing. It was rundown and the place was in bad shape.
-
From check in to check out, everything was perfect. Yes there is work being done on the lobby and the building is being painted but that just means the Marriott cares and is clean on the outside as well as the inside. We stay at least once a year to visit family. Always a pleasure to stay at the Fishkill Marriott Courtyard!!

The issue was the shower and check out… after my husband showered the tub would not drain. My husband had to clear a disgusting clog of hair and grime.. we had no time to call or go to a new room as we were in fishkill to attend my sons graduation early am at Mt St Mary college. It was gross and time consuming but we took care of it. At check out the host was rude. I said matter of factly that I was not looking for a refund but wanted to make sure someone knew there was a clog in our room. He said I’ll tell the engineer I said it was taken care of I was making a point that housekeeping should have known. He never said sorry for the inconvenience or appreciate you handling it.. nothing just I’ll let the engineer know and went on to the next person checking out. I feel if it was my business I would want to know. Not the stay we were hoping for and for 230+ dollars a night a clean shower should be the norm.

Starbucks menu, parking was easy and safe elevator were super slow, no water in the room

Location and convenience to shopping/restaurants Water in room was brown. I had to go to the front desk before being told that the local town shut off the water. I was told to let it run and keep flushing the toilet until clear. Entry was near my room was inoperable due to lack of power. Also, had to switch rooms due to the TV not working.

Location was great. The lobby was appealing. Upon arrival no one was at the front desk to greet and check us in. Although I was shown on the security camera and I could hear talking in the back, no one arrived for approximately 15 minutes to help me check in. Asked for a plastic spoon at the cafeteria and the individual working seemed annoyed with me and told me to get one by the microwave and pointed. The facility was dated. I'm surprised Marriott puts their name behind this hotel. The room was cramped, fingerprint and handprints on light switches by bed, headboard looked greasy from heads and elevator had handprints all over. Unsanitary. We will not choose this hotel again in our travels. No one seemed to enjoy their jobs. Very unfriendly for a hospitality business.
