    The stench of mold emanating from this property was grotesque. They had humidifiers in the hallways so it’s obviously a known issue. Either the local health department has toxic thresholds or I can’t see how this property can be compliant with health department code. The front desk was kind to put us in another room but the stench was pervasive throughout the whole property. Infuriating that I paid $242 a night for this danger to my health. Gives Expedia a bad name.

    The hotel literally smelled awful the second we walked in. It’s surrounded by a chop shop in front and abandoned restaurants to the side. The room was filthy. The fire alarm kept going off. We asked for a repair and it took over 2 hours and me calling the fire department to get it fixed. The employee at the desk called me “white devil” because at the 2 hour mark I asked how much longer it was going to be before they could fix it. Total waste of money. I would highly recommend going literally anywhere else. They did not have enough towel for guests in rooms when we needed refills they offered us pool towels which at most I saw three towels on the pool towel rack. So not enough of either kind of towels. Also the majority of chairs by the pool were completely broken. Every lounge chair they had out there which was 3/4 were broken along with the bulk of the other chairs.

    It was clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was not good. They barely had anything and that’s one of the main reasons we booked it and didn’t get to eat.

    Also, just when you look at some of the trim and edges of things, it was either dirty or not a good finish. If you are just looking for a cheap place for a short time, then you can probably handle this place but if you’re planning on staying here for 4+ days, I would not recommend. We checked out after the first night and found a higher rated hotel down the road. This opinion has nothing to do with the front desk help. They made it very quick and very easy to check out and credit us back for the two nights we didn’t use so they were great.

    1) the elevator was extremely slow and sounded as if it needed maintenance 2) every vending machine was out of order 3) the building was extremely humid and sticky as if something was wrong with the HVAC system 4) the air in the room had to be turned down to 64 so it wouldn’t be humid and sticky (I bumped it up to 65 and within 10 minutes it was sticky again) 5) the toilet in our room was not all the way secured to the ground and moved every time you sat down and stood up making a loud noise which was bothersome at night with two kids sleeping just a couple feet away 6) the floors were dirty and definitely needed to be cleaned 7) the mattress in our King room was a Queen size 8) the mattress was also dirty and had stains 9) the lamps in the room with filthy 10) the outlets were hanging out of the wall and broken (I was scared to plug in my charger) 11) the tv in our room didn’t work at all, wouldn’t even turn on (I tried the remote and my Roku remote on my phone) 12) the tub wasn’t entirely dirty but the stopper was filthy and needed to be replaced 13) the air conditioner made a gurgling noise loudly all night long even when it wasn’t running 14) location wasn’t great, definitely a little sketchy, and not super close to everything (30 minutes to the beach) extremely hard to turn out of back on the main road unless you were going right 15) the price was unreasonable for one night, especially for the quality of this hotel 16) the room was tiny 17) the staff at the front desk were okay but definitely not the friendliest or most welcoming and gave no information at all (breakfast hours, pool hours, how to get to room, etc) There definitely needs to be lots of updates and maintenance. Whoever is taking care of this hotel is doing a poor job. I’ve stayed at lots of choice hotels and am a choice hotels member and this is one of the worst. I won’t be back here, there’s too many other, better options in this area.

    Charged me five times for the room at check-in, after waiting at the counter at check-in time for 5 minutes. Elevator felt like final destination. TV had poor reception. Bed was comfortable but unstable.

    Rooms was not clean had to change rooms due to the musty smell and the second was no better the toilet had a towel and flower pot on the top covering the cracked lid the room was not very clean at all

    It’s location worked for me The second floor stunk like a dirty diaper. My room had a heavy musty smell. Water pressure was terrible, the hot water barely had enough pressure to clear the shower head. Breakfast bar was terrible waffles and mini muffins. Ran out of coffee and could find staff.

    My room had a strong, unpleasant odor that seemed like it was coming from the drain—possibly sewage-related. The smell never went away during the entire stay. The room itself felt very worn down: fixtures were old and rusted, the walls were visibly dirty, and even the outside of the tub needed cleaning. One of the queen beds had a large hole in the sheet, which was unacceptable. The floors (which were not carpeted) also appeared like they hadn’t been mopped in quite some time. One of my friends had an even worse start—she had to switch rooms immediately after check-in because the first one was filthy and had a strong odor. Her second room was only slightly better, and she ended up cleaning it herself just to feel comfortable. Housekeeping was inconsistent. My room was serviced on the second day—trash was taken out and towels were replaced—but the beds were not made. Meanwhile, my friend’s room was not serviced at all. When she asked about it, she was told housekeeping comes every other day. However, that explanation didn’t make sense since my room had just been serviced. She was given extra towels, but no one ever came to clean her room or remove trash during the stay. On our last night, when she went to request more towels, she was told the hotel had run out. It’s hard to understand how a hotel runs out of towels, especially when the laundry area is visible right behind the front desk. Breakfast was also very limited. The options were mostly bread-based—bagels, sliced bread, and waffles. There were no protein options like eggs or meat, which was disappointing for families trying to start the day. There was yogurt though so I guess that’s the protein.

    Mrs. Doreen is amazing. Very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She definitely elevates my experience. The room floors cleanliness could be better.
