The Guest Lodge Gainesville

This was a horrible experience. I don’t even understand how it had a high rating. I rode up and thought I was in the wrong place or it was a joke. They doctored up the photos. I was so disappointed. I went Walmart and bought a comforter set, disinfectant and air freshener. I thought because the name said Lodge it was like in Gatlinburg TN it had the name but it don’t reflect a lodge. I saw a roach by the sink. It was horrible. The ladies that work there was very nice though. The refrigerator was old and I have photos of the inside and the freezer area and that wasn’t good either. I researched 15 different places before I decide on this because of the rating. And… it wasn’t a good price after I saw what I was getting. My little get-away for one day was a nightmare.

The outside of the hotel.is nice. Clean and looks great. The pool area is pretty. I walked into our room it smelled so bad. It was not clean. The front desk lady was super nice but didn't offer is another room. The front desk lady when I checked out was very rude. The TV kept going in and out. When it got later in the evening there was two people I am sure was having sex in the pool. A lot of people seemed to be living there also. They lobby was nice and pool area was as advertised. Everytime I opened the door I smelled weed. I will never stay there again.

Weekend staff was excellent

When I kneeled to change to a handicap room they did so immediately.

Stay here often and staff is always responsive to any issues that arise.

The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great value for the money. The hotel was squeaky clean and the staff's southern hospitality shone brightly. Absolutely perfect if you're traveling on a budget

Very run down hotel. The floor in our room was dirty, the bathroom was less than acceptable, and a large dumpster was emptied at 4:30am! Don't waste your money!

The room was absolutely disgusting. There was pee all over the toilet seat, the floors were gross, had hair everywhere and there were ants. It definitely does not look like the photos online. The pool was nice and the staff was friendly.

Great place to stay. Around all the food spots. But they need to put a mirror across the street. So when you are pulling out of the property you can see what is coming.

Some minor maintenance issues needed attention. The hotel is right across from a police and fire department, so sirens in the middle of the night can be an issue.

I am challenged to respond to this…my first experience at the property encountered cockroaches in the bathroom and near the AC; the beds, however, were SUPER comfortable and the (shower) water pressure was great! In the SAME room, 90 days later (second visit), I did not see roaches…but encountered bedbugs. I was immediately switched to another room, and had great beds, great AC, very helpful handicap accommodations (for me), but there were multiple “Rollie-Pollie” bugs on the floor behind the toilet (they don’t scurry and weren’t bothersome). I swam in the pool which was nice - and overall like the property. I simply wish the bug problem would be addressed. I would like to return in the future. I do think the staff is aware of the bug problems and, otherwise, are very hospitable.
