Excellent 50th birthday getaway. Love the hotel, the amenities, staff, and birthday cheesecake sent to my room. Will definitely return!

Can’t eat dinner unless your dressed up!!

The rooms are clean and the hotel is beautiful but food and room are overpriced. The staff is very nice and made everything right when we didn’t have a bigger sized fridge in our room and the vallet found room for our big van . Excellent customer service.

Service The Minute you drive up . Valet service, polite and helpful especially during a holiday, Easy breezy check -in & check-out, great coffee shop in lobby, truly good coffee/triple latte, again great service, bar is beautiful with Piano player in the evening service there also is great, and I love the lamb chops on the bar menu, and I have not even been up to my room yet, get to my room and it’s beautiful a poster walls going down the hallway, the mattress and pillows and sheets were so comfortable, the only bad part of our stay was when the sun woke my partner at 6:45 in the morning because I didn’t draw the blackout drapes the night before , I liked the city Oceanviewlooking at the view, and he woke me up, and then I was a little cranky because I was having the best sleep with the mattress, the pillows and the sheets, we became ONE. Great weekend retreat, Spa is beautiful , gym & pool are very nice and a great clientele, most every guest was dressed well and social , no imperious attitudes, just a relaxing old world elegance in the middle of Galveston . FANTASIC Property!!!! Can’t wait to go back!

The pool bar was not a great part of our stay. All of them team congregated at the bar talking and on their phones. We had to walk back and forth to get drinks and order food. This is unacceptable in a resort stay. It was not relaxing and was extremely annoying. There were enough staff to walk around and provide service but it was not happening that day .This is an area of concern and would prevent my stay . Also on the last note- please replace the sad little rugs in the elevators. It is not an expensive fix, can be tiled or carpeted fairly easily. Not a great look.

There is so much history to this hotel, we enjoyed looking around and just taking in the beauty of it. Enjoyed beautiful bar and some pool time!

Gorgeous property with an interesting history

1. The 'facilities fee' $25/ day was not disclosed in any reasonable way when booking my stay and not mentioned until checking out. This seems extremely inappropriate. 2. The only reasonable parking situation is valet service. $40/ day plus tips is a bit unreasonable. 3. Private beach area (part of the 'facilities fee' mentioned above) prohibited 'outside' drinks but we never found anyone serving drinks any of the times we used the area. Other than that, the stay was excellent.

It was an all around great experience

Front desk staff terrible. This hotel does not honor third party contracts. Manager not available after 4:30, despite check in is at 4. Elevator broken, so long waits to get anywhere. Hotel property is beautiful.
-
We had trouble with the lock on our door. Maintenance had to come 3 times until finally fixed. HaD to wait on Beach chairs a couple of times. Only 1 elevator working made for a lot of waiting. 5th floor smelled like weed first night but they took care of it. Very nice, historical hotel. Private beach was nice to have.

★★★★★ Our stay at the Grand Galvez Resort, Autograph Collection was absolutely exceptional and one of the highlights of our vacation in Galveston. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beauty and elegance of this historic hotel. The property is immaculately maintained, blending timeless charm with modern luxury. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly, professional, and committed to providing outstanding service. The food was truly first-class. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making dining at the resort an experience in itself. The fitness center exceeded my expectations. It was clean, spacious, and equipped with everything needed for a great workout while traveling. The pool area was simply luxurious. It was the perfect place to relax, with comfortable seating, beautiful surroundings, and an atmosphere that made it feel like a true resort getaway. If you’re planning a trip to Galveston and want a hotel that combines history, luxury, outstanding amenities, and exceptional service, I highly recommend the Grand Galvez Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning on our next visit to Galveston.

I left a beach cover up in my and reported it missing through the correct protocol and am still awaiting a reply. Also the elevator was out of service, and had been so for 2 weeks. This did give quite a bottleneck to the 1 available elevator.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and updated hotel. The pool was very nice. We splurged for a cabana and it was fantastic. The was awesome. The Galvez is in great location. Walking distance to bars and a short drive the strand. Definitely cool back in the future.

Beautiful historic hotel! We truly enjoyed learning about the history of the hotel and had a wonderful experience! Very clean and beautifully decorated. Food was very good at the restaurant and breakfast. Bar experience was very nice with a live pianist playing. Spa was great too! Pool was also very nice. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely go back.

Not a good deal when you just staying for one or two nights!!
-
We were there for three days and throughout the entire time only one elevator worked in the entire hotel.
