The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center

This hotel is really a treat with modern, exciting, and beautiful amenities. Yet it is casual enough to feel comfortable. The staff is accommodating, sincere, but really let the guest remain the focus. In late September, it was not crowded, so the pool was very accessible. The food at the Grotto was good and affordable. The Bananas Fosters pancake and other breakfast meals were very good. The beach across the street was nice, walkable and seemed safe. Location is close to many things. I loved having the balcony overlooking the beach and pool. I don’t think this hotel can be any better.

For a highly rated, highly priced beautiful hotel I was let down by of all things, the mattress. Our expectations were met 1000% until bedtime. We were unable to sleep on the hard mattress. It was like sleeping on a box spring. If I tried to lay on my side my hip hurt so bad I would end up on my back. I will never stay again after the lack of sleep even though the resort was amazing.

Love this place!

The property was great and all the staff working there. That being said, our room had a moldy/mildew smell. We received breakfast in the room every morning, but the first morning there was red lipstick on one of the coffee cups. I brought it down to the man at the desk. It was disguisting.

This is ridiculous! There should be some chairs with umbrellas for people not using cabanas. I understand for summertime on weekends, but this is fall on weekdays! The pool bar staff and coffee shop clerk were awesome!

The only thing i didn’t care for was the sliding bathroom door that didn’t fully close

Room was nice looking, mattress was firm horrible and bathroom looked like a motel 6 with not so clean grout and white caulking everywhere put on by a child. For $400-$600 a night was expecting better. Because our friend’s condo at same location was way better and cheaper!!! They had more space and kitchen. They need to clean up the details in restroom and replace mattresses.

First class service everyplace.

We had to move rooms because the air conditioner was broken. There was water stains coming out through the windows. There was a hole in one of the walls. I said something to them and they said they would fix it after I left. They tried to fix the air conditioner for four hours and finally let us move into a different room which is on the bottom floor. The bar at the pool. The bartenders were rude and stuck up and it was really hard to get a drink I really don’t think it’s worth the value of how much it cost to go there. I’ve been there before and it was awesome. Something has changed.

This destination offersl an exceptional environment for those seeking a relaxing getaway. Take advantage of the convenient parking facilities provided on the premises. The outdoor pool and swim-up bar creates a refreshing atmosphere perfect for unwinding throughout the day.

The internet connection is very bad

This was a great hotel to stay out prior to our cruise. It was very elegant, clean, and had different activities to do. The pool area was great for our family and every single one of the staff members was very helpful. We could not have asked for better service. We most definitely want to stay here again and try the steakhouse. If you want to splurge and have a great time at Galveston, do not hesitate to book this hotel because you will not regret it.

Loved everything

Valet parking was great and included free for guests staying on the club 10 floor. Check in was very smooth and super fast. We stayed in a corner suite with great views of the Gulf of America. Both the room and the bathroom were really clean. Next stop was the pool bar which is about a close as you can get to paradise on a hot and humid Texas day. We dined at Blake’s Bistro. The Shrimp Kisses were delicious. Both the Mahi mahi tacos and the club sandwiches were excellent. Back at the room we wound down with a complimentary bottle of wine. The A/C system worked very well and the room was very quiet. Room service breakfast was also included and it was very large serving and very good. As nice as the San Luis Resort is the service is what makes the place. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Security was great and also retrieved my car outside of regular valet hours.
