TRU BY Hilton Galveston

The beds are hard and make for a miserable night. Not to mention the people above us stomping on the floor all night and morning. We reported it multiple times with no change. Two guests and we were only given 2 bath towels, 2 wash clothes and 2 hand towels.

This was our first time visiting Galveston, and after doing a lot of research, we chose Tru because we were traveling with our two little dogs and wanted to explore the beach and try different restaurants. We’re very happy with our choice! Tru Hilton and Home2 Suites are connected. We stayed during the weekdays, so it was peaceful and not too crowded. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good, and every employee we met was friendly and accommodating. We booked a King Ocean View with a patio. HELPFUL TIP: call the hotel to confirm if your room has a partial or full ocean view. We called around 11 AM on our check-in day, and they were very helpful explaining our room. We arrived around 6 PM after a long drive, and everything went smoothly, and also if you need microwave , request one. One of our favorite things was walking across the street to the beach early in the morning with our dogs and enjoying the sunrise. Such a peaceful and relaxing experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again!

Good easy stay

Room was nice except for the pillows that were so flat seems like they haven’t changed their pillows since they opened … there was a broken chair in the lobby with a sign that they should have just taken out of the lobby…

Great location. Love the helpful staff and the breakfast was good.

I reserved a ocean view room w/balcony and received a parking lot view.

Had a great stay and would recommend it to everyone

The computers weren't working so we couldn't check in for over 2 hours. The front desk staff and manager didn't keep us updated or provide complimentary drinks or snacks. The room assigned to us had someone already in it when we opened the door.

It’s a fine enough hotel for a couple days near the beach. Certainly not a “nice” hotel. Decent breakfast buffet, big lobby with lots of seating. The pool is very small with misleading photos, and “ocean view” is also misleading. Still, the staff was fine and it wasn’t expensive.

Stay was great. The only thing I would say is the ac in my room wouldn’t go below 72 and the hallways are very warm. Maybe could use fans .

Chairs broken in lobby with a sign, homless enter and grab breakfast, hang out in the bathrooms, parking charge added at the end not listed on website. Staff was good, breakfast was hot.

First night we stayed the ac and fridge were not working. Staff tried telling me I was wrong after going back and forth with them. Ac unit was frozen and fridge was not working so both were replaced by midnight. We did not sleep that night. I talked to staff and they did the best they could to help in the morning but I’ll never use a third party again since they could not comp the night because I booked with Expedia.

Mu gustó mucho la vista al mar tan hermosa. Recomendaría que pudieran ampliar más la piscina y le hicieran bar y restaurantes para un futuro. Pero el trato del personal y su instalación es maravillosa.

Could not check in at check in time due to tech issues

Room was very clean, staff was fantastic, breakfast was excellent, balcony was great it had a beach view. It would have been nice if we could have turned the light off on the balcony. The stay was really great and close to everywhere you could go on the island.

Breakfast was very good and location to beach. That’s the best I can say.

Upon arrival at 4 PM for a check-in, we were told the Internet was down. They said they would call us when Internet was back up and running. We arrived back at six with no phone call to see others checking in. We proceeded to check in and was given a card for a room 521 I then walked in on people as the room was occupied. I went back to customer service and informed them they gave me a second key and again the same thing happened. The room was occupied. The third time customer service walked us to the room and it was occupied again. The fourth time they put us in a room with one bed and we had four people. It was upon the fifth time of getting a room key that we finally got a room that was not already occupied and had enough beds to accommodate our group. Staff was non-apologetic for the mishap. and proceeded to tell me that I needed to be accommodating. I had booked this reservation over two months ago.
