The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the problems started as soon as we left the lobby. The hallways and our room were extremely humid because the AC hadn’t been running. It took nearly a full day for the room to cool into the 70s, and we had gnats throughout our stay, likely due to excess moisture. The biggest issue was the bathroom ceiling. The ceiling tiles above the shower had been cut incorrectly, leaving a large open gap where you could see into the ceiling space. It was shocking from both a cleanliness and maintenance standpoint. The showerhead also leaked at the connection and looked like it had been hastily installed. The mattress was so old you could feel every spring, and parts of the room were literally separating from the walls. I also didn’t feel safe. The room only had a basic chain lock, and the smoke detector and sprinkler heads appeared very old. The paid parking wasn’t the issue—it was paying extra after such a disappointing stay. The parking lot striping was so confusing from multiple layers of paint that people struggled to park correctly. The staff were great, but the room was not. Expedia’s listing should be updated because it does not accurately represent the property’s current condition.

I mentioned this to staff and got no apologies or arrangements to stay somewhere I could use my machine—or even an extension cord. Being able to breathe at night seems important, no? Zero caring. I managed to jury-rig a solution by plugging my machine into the outlet several feet from the bed and using a chair as a table for my device. The downside was I could only do this near the squishier of the two beds. I need a firm mattress for my back so it was an unpleasant choice. The phone in the room didn’t work. The room was barely decorated. It was very sparse. The nice stuff? The bathroom and shower. However, the toilet is older and very slow flushing and they left us only one spare roll of TP. Most times when I called the front desk no one answered. Most egregious: this is a vintage hotel with a big parking lot. They charged us $10/night to park. You know that lot has existed for a long time and they dodnt charge for many years. Just greed. Don’t care if the other hotels are doing it. It’s shabby. Make sure to ask every hotel before you book if they charge for parking and what that charge is. Disappointed, as this hotel had been well reviewed.

The photos create a very different impression than the reality. The property wasn't as stylish or updated as it appeared online, and I didn't feel it justified the nightly rate. We stayed in a ground floor room by the pool. It was dark, with a small window, concrete floors and no rugs, which made it feel cold and uninviting. The bathroom offered very little privacy, had no exhaust fan, and there were only enough towels for one person when we arrived. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a night unless you're simply looking for an inexpensive place to sleep. That said, the staff were kind, professional, and clearly working very hard. Every time we passed through the lobby, they were doing their best to manage large groups checking in while still helping individual guests. They were the highlight of our stay. This version is more likely to be taken seriously because it focuses on specific observations rather than emotional language, while still giving credit to the staff.

The two best things about this property are the staff (wonderful and helpful in every way!) and the proximity to the freeway. The location was ideal for our wedding in La Canada and for playing all over LA. The rooms were in need of some maintenance (bathroom fans not working, wallpaper pealing, carpets worn) but the beds were comfortable and my grown children loved the pool! The grab and go breakfast snacks were a nice addition and helpful with our busy schedule. We would stay here again, reasonable price and great location!

First issue, had a hard time opening the door. Once we did, we discovered the door didn’t lock. Ended having to switch rooms. The maintenance man, Adrian, was very friendly and tried to help as quickly as possible so we could enjoy our first night. The shower pressure isn’t great but everything is in the room was as advertised. Neighborhood is very quiet and lots of shopping nearby.

My stay there was terrible, very unsanitary, needs a serious renovation. Would never stay again there! Bathroom was very small, and a lot of stuff were torn all around the room

I canceled after walking in and the staff refused to give money back
