It was a nice overall place to stay once the A/C finally kicked on in my room. They did a pretty good job with converting what appears to be an old bank. My room's door didn't latch all the way on its own unless I manually closed it; not a big deal but worth keeping in mind if you're not used to it.

HOTEL is always fabulous

The only perk of this hotel was the location. Staff was rude and unhelpful. We ordered room service and were told they just ignored our order after an hour later and us calling down. AC wasn’t working in our room and told that it won’t go past 75 degrees in any room so there was no solution. Horrible stay especially for the cost.

I was disappointed in my stay at this hotel. The location was great and the property was clean and comfortable. However, at check-in I was assigned a room that turned out to be occupied. Unfortunately my key still worked and I walked in on an entirely naked man. The staff were very apologetic and assigned me a room that they considered an upgrade, Seemed like a nice gesture, but I discovered the next morning at 530am that it was directly over the service alley. Trash and recycling pick-up, numerous deliveries from trucks backing-in using loud reverse alarms and noisy hydraulic decks, occurred for a couple hours each morning. My stay was mid-week which apparently meant the restaurant and bar were closed. The second night of my stay I had a friend meeting me but staying in her own room. I had booked the two rooms for us on a third-party site. During her check-in we requested that our rooms be near each other, if possible, and was told that due to booking on a third-party site, they weren’t able to accommodate that. So she was on a different floor in a different tower with a access from an entirely different elevator. And it turned out her room had no hand towels or washcloths, only bath towels. Disappointing hotel experience overall. Grand Rapids was lovely though.

I forgot that I am a diamond-level member of Choice when I booked late at night, and the manager made it clear that I would have been treated as such, which is my fault. I enjoyed the room and amenities and was treated well. If the staff is not at the desk, just wait a minute. Everything was great.

Loved the live jazz music on Friday night. The Saturday buffet was really good and the proximity was great for downtown activities. Only downside is there is no breakfast onsite Monday- Thursday.

Room was clean. It took me awhile to figure out how to use the shades on the windows are electrical. So we slept with the windows bare. Hotel was nice. Bathroom exhaust didnt work. Also they dont offer alot of soap. We stayed in a double queen for 4 ppl. One set of soap was given. Had to ask for more and towels. Its a beautiful set up in the downtown area on Grand rapids with lots of places to visit and walk to. Over all was a great experience.

Location and room seems clean Lack of parking, Room was noisy from road traffic, all night. Room was small, TV location was not great, half the remote worked so viewing options were limited. Only amenity was a coffee maker. Even with the sliding bathroom door closed, you could still see into the bathroom. Overall, for what was paid, room was not a good value.

It was a good value

Great location when attending a concert. Beware of parking as they increase the price during events. (Not ran by the hotel). Sunday night things around were shut down by 8 pm. Single room is very small.

The staff at this hotel were great! Everyone was very nice and helpful. The location was also great and within walking distance to lots of gems. The room however was not the best I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was questionably clean with yellow drips down all of the walls. The TV only worked part of the time, and there was no mini fridge, though I should have checked that before booking. My only window faced into someone’s apartment, but kind of to be expected since I didn’t pay more for the city view. The light switches were also odd and changing one by the door would make it so the lights in the bathroom and by the bed wouldn’t work. There was nothing in the hotel room that made noise so there was no way to block out the sounds coming from the other rooms. It worked for what I needed, but if you are looking for a nice hotel for a special event, I would not book here. The bed was extremely comfortable though, and they did provide water and a coffee machine.

The location was amazing for accessing all that downtown Grand Rapids had to offer. We were there to attend a concert at Van Andel Arena and walking back to our hotel right after without having to hop in our car was a great bonus. The staff was super friendly and happy to explain any of the tech that we struggled with while we were there. The room could have been a little cleaner. The light switches, door handles, and places like that in our room needed a little attention. I sort of took away from the luxury it was trying to convey.

I was concerned when I saw that our room was directly next to the elevator. This is something I try to stay away from because of noise. But the way the room and bathroom are set up, we had no noise issues whatsoever. It was a nice surprise. Other than that we really didn’t spend much time at the hotel so we didn’t really take advantage of any extra amenities it had to offer. Negative: The light switches were messed up-hard to navigate. But this is minor. The bathroom sinks were plugged up so that when you utilize the sink it gradually fills with water, so I suggest they be maintained for good flow and no blockage.

This place was perfect for anyone in town for an event at Van Andel. It is a quick walk to the arena. The only potential downside is there isn’t a designated place to pull over to check in for the hotel.
-
Just perfect. No issues at all.

We had a wonderful stay at CityFlatsHotel in Grand Rapids. Our room was clean, quiet, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable visit. The parking was conveniently located nearby, making it easy to come and go throughout our stay. We especially loved the central location—we were able to walk to local shops, restaurants, speakeasies, and the riverfront, which made exploring the city so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Grand Rapids.

The lighting system was confusing. For cost the service was not the best but great for why we were in town.
-
The bed was clean and incredibly soft, the room was spacious and inviting, and the bathroom was generous and open. We definitely will be back.

Our stay was excellent! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a very enjoyable experience. The only minor downside is that the hotel doesn’t offer on-site parking, so you’ll need to use nearby paid city parking. Other than that, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
